The mainstream Communication tool in the healthcare Industry is the emergence of mobile health technology. With digitalization there has been significant growth in mobile apps in healthcare industry. The premises for mobile health (mHealth) technologies is erupting in mobile connectivity and computing power that have fashioned and reformed the quality and mode of healthcare and clinical research on a global scale. The novel characteristics of mobile technologies have helped in developing innovational health services and interventions providing unprecedented opportunities. From the perspective of the COVID-19 outbreak, in the current world situation the popularity of healthcare apps has skyrocketed with the increased adoption of mobile devices and demand for mobile in the delivery of services, with the development of innovative technology.

The mHealth apps’ market and over 31,000 health- related apps in this segment is growing with the smartphone ingress and looking into more active users globally, it is projected to keep growing. The market size for mHealth was valued at over $45 billion in 2020 and is approximated to grow at a CAGR of 17.7% from 2021 to 2030.An exorbitant increase in market size is due to the COVID-19 outbreak which is now intended to reach $100 billion (Statista) by the end of 2021 – a fivefold increase from $21 billion in 2016.

Therapid growths in mHealth and in building Healthcare apps are due to:

  • Increase in more  savvy smartphone user base which is projected to reach 7.5 billion users in 2026
  •  COVID-19 that is  likely  to continue  for years to come and is far from being over  hence mHealth is becoming a necessity
  • Eliminating downtime and travel  cost causing  reduction for both  customers and service providers
  •  Globally there is a growing adoption of more advanced wearable medical devices and use of technologies viz. machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, DNA sequencing and DataAnalytics, that facilitates the processes of saving clinical data, discovering insights, and suggesting actions already implemented in mobile healthcare.

The major market drivers are:

  • Surge in the use of smartphones, specialized apps, and other wireless infrastructure across the world
  • Endorsement of smart wearable medical devices are increasing
  • during COVID-19 pandemic acceptance increased
  • government contributions are favorable
  • Chronic disease cases are burgeoning
  • In healthcare delivery there is a great potentiality for cost-saving

However, the path to mHealth incorporation into clinical care is facing threat. As there are regulatory, financial and security hindrances to overcome, also lack of high quality documentationthat supports the adoption of many new technologies. However backed by automated clinical decision–support tools and permissive care and understanding of physiological variability will help to check point-of-need diagnostic devices, medical-grade imaging and smartphone-linked wearable sensors all built around real-time data flow and enactthe true value  and potentiality of the evolving mHealth field.

Now mobile technology can potentially transform research with the recently announced Research Kit program by Apple. Adaptive study designs from both an intervention and statistical standpoint, will also assure that the results are scalable and meaningful the moment they are published.

However with the emergence of mobile health (mHealth) technologies which are providing the foundation to radically transform the reach and practice of medical research and care. Now, individuals are becoming increasingly capable of tracking, monitoring and transmitting health metrics continuously and in real time through increasingly powerful and miniature mobile computing capabilities. So outside the standard doctor’s office or hospital thismetamorphosis has provided the potential for chronic condition management and acute disease diagnosis.

With the emergence of mHealth technologies there is a marked improvement in understanding of human physiology in health and disease and reengineering every facet of health care. Through mobile health apps, providing medical solutions is becoming an increasingly popular trend in 2022.

Both Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will take the industry a big step forward to new generation healthcare.Though will have to accord with challenges like data storage, surveillance, accuracy that can be accomplished progressively. As a developer, planning design,Innate andinteractive design is driving value with health apps and to meet the industry’s needs one should consider about creating a life-changing healthcare app.

As per the article entitled “5G Mobile Impact on Health Care Sector”. Qualcomm Technologies Inc. accredited this report and found that the focal point shifts from volumetric healthcare to value-based healthcare while appraising the probable impact of 5G on the impending innovative healthcare sector, where according to Goldman Sachs. $650 billion savings will be emanated by 2025.
