A Staff Development Programme on "Work-Life Balance: Building Resilience" was conducted on 31st May 2025 to support and empower staff in managing workplace stress, enhancing mental well-being, and building personal resilience. The programme aimed to promote a healthier work culture and provide practical tools for balancing professional responsibilities with personal life. The sessions were interactive, combining lectures with real-life case studies, group activities, and mindfulness exercises. Participants engaged in role-playing and guided breathing techniques to practice stress-reduction methods. Real-life testimonials shared during the open forum created a supportive and empathetic space. Resource materials and handouts were distributed to encourage continued learning and application of discussed techniques.
The Staff Development Program (SDP) on Time Management, held on 16th July 2024 at JIMS Kalkaji, provided staff members with essential tools and strategies to enhance their time management skills in the workplace. Led by Dr. Pallavi Ahuja and Dr. Shivani Sharma, the program emphasized the importance of time management in boosting productivity and employee effectiveness. The sessions covered understanding time management challenges, the benefits of better time management, and practical techniques such as time blocking and prioritization. Through engaging activities, case studies, and time management games, participants gained hands-on experience and valuable insights. The program was well-received, equipping staff with practical strategies to improve their efficiency and productivity.
The Staff Development Program (SDP) on Stress Management, held on 14th May 2024 at JIMS Kalkaji, was a highly engaging initiative aimed at providing staff members with practical techniques to manage stress in both personal and professional settings. Coordinated by Dr. Ruchi Shrivastava and Dr. Niti Saxena, the program focused on understanding stress, its causes, and its impact on mental and physical well-being. The sessions introduced effective stress management strategies like mindfulness, deep breathing, and time management, with hands-on activities for participants. The program was a success, offering valuable insights and tools to enhance workplace productivity and personal well-being.
JIMS, Kalkaji organized Staff Development Programme on "Excel – Hands on Approach" on 23rd September, 2022. Ms. Palak Gupta, Assistant Professor, JIMS, Kalkaji took the training session in which she emphasized about the need of Excel in the changing business scenario and day-to-day reporting. She shared interesting facts and highlighted that the future is analytics which motivated staff members to think analytically and kept them engaged throughout the training session. Hands on practice was done on data sets to enable them understand the concepts of basic and advanced excel better. The session was highly interactive where staff members were asked to give their inputs on their understanding about Excel. The topics covered in the training explored functionalities of different formulas, formatting options, filter, conditional formatting, data validation, pivot analysis etc. Overall the session was well appreciated by all staff members.
A Staff Development Programme on Personality Assesment was organized on 31st March 2022. Dr. Anju Shukla , Assistant Professor in HRM and Organisation Behaviour addressed the Staff. Keeping in mind the relevance of assessing and improving Personality of an individual as personality is a scientifically - proven predictor of job performance, motivation , commitment behavioural tendencies of an employess in a work environment. It allows the eployees as well as employers to have a better understanding of themselves so as to work in an effective and efficient manner. Dr. Shukla helped the staff in assessing their personality types. Once the staff had a better understanding of their personalities, they could have a better look at their strength and weeknesses. Also, it helps to know their core strength areas and the areas to work on. The session was highly appreciated by the staff.
A Staff Development Programme on 'Enhancing Verbal Communication Skills' of the staff was organised on August 12, 2021. Ms. Jyoti Kukreja, Assistant Professor, Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji, New Delhi shared various tips and tricks to enhance verbal communication skills of the staff members. Excellence is not an act but a habit with JIMS and making spoken skills is both requisite and a contemporary skill in today's world. Thus, what can make message effective when wrapped in the right set of words was discussed in detail. She shared various words and phrases along with some notifications involved such as in tone and pitch of the voice. Staff was really delighted with such a detailed session and looks forward to more such development programmes.
A Staff Development Programme 2021 on Effective Writing Skills was organized. Dr. AShok Sharma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji addressed the staff members. Keeping in mind the relevance of enhancing organiational productivity and staff efficiency this session was most required. Ms. Jyoti Kukreja, Assistant Professor, Communication shared some of the technical expertise that can be adopted for writing emails, drafting notices, circulars, etc. The session was highly appreciated by the staff.
JIMS, Kalkaji organized Staff Development Program on "Emotions- The lens to the World." on Saturday 13th March 2021 by Ms. Bhoomika. The one day training was conducted to provide employees a broad knowledge of self advancement in terms of emotions which would lead the employees to understand interpersonal relationships at the workplace too. The following two activities were performed – Chit picking – every employee had to enact on the emotions ad others to recognize the emotion and Expressing thoughts- The trainer asked all the employees to draw emotions on a sheet a paper.
For maintaining Institutional Documents on Google Drive a training session was organized in JIMS Kalkaji on 4th January 2019 by Dr. Seema Agarwal, Joint Registrar, JIMS Kalkaji. HODs, Faculty and staff members from all JIMS campuses attended the training.
