"Cultivating Consciousness: Earth Day Herbal Plantation Drive at JIMS Kalkaji"on 10th April, 2024

On the occasion of Earth Day, April 10, 2024, the NSS and ECO Club at JIMS Kalkaji collaborated to orchestrate a highly impactful Herbal Plantation Drive. Aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards our planet, the event was met with resounding success. Led by dedicated volunteers and supported by faculty members, students actively participated in planting a diverse array of herbal saplings including tulsi, neem, aloe vera, mint, and basil across the campus grounds. This initiative not only contributed to the greening of the campus but also provided participants with invaluable insights into the crucial role of herbal plants in biodiversity conservation and traditional medicinal practices. Promoting Environmental Sustainability and Community Unity: Eco-Friendly Holi Celebration by NSS-ECO Club on 22nd March 2024

On 22nd March 2024, NSS-ECO Club of JIMS Kalkaji organized an Eco-Friendly Holi celebration inside the campus premises. The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability while fostering a sense of community and cultural celebration among the students and faculty. This initiative aimed to minimize the environmental impact of traditional Holi colors, which often contain harmful chemicals. A Session on "Ethical Behavior in Personal & Professional Life," By NSS-ECO Club on February 1, 2024

NSS –ECO club of JIMS Kalkaji recently hosted a thought-provoking session on "Ethical Behavior in Personal & Professional Life" featuring Mr Gorang Sharma, an esteemed alumnus of JIMS Kalkaji and expert in the field on 1st Feb,2024. The session was tailored for PGDM and PGDM IB students, offering valuable insights into the profound impact of ethical behavior on an individual's character and integrity, thereby influencing both personal and professional relationship.
Mr Gorang Sharma emphasized that ethical behavior involves the conscious choice of morally sound judgments, guided by values such as accountability, honesty, and integrity. During the session, he highlighted the pivotal role of ethical conduct in personal lives, underscoring its significance in establishing the groundwork for healthy relationships and thriving communities. According to him, treating others with respect, honesty, and compassion is the key to fostering trust and goodwill, making choices that align with personal values and contribute positively to the overall well-being of oneself and the community. "Ram Mandir Pranpratishtha Function" on 22nd January, 2024

On the 22nd of January 2024, the Cultural Club of JIMS Kalkaji held a cultural event to celebrate the Ram Mandir Pranpratishtha function. It was held at the auditorium and was a spectacular event filled with diverse performances that left the audience enthralled. The musical enchantment commenced with soul-stirring renditions by Sudhanshu, Asmita, and Shristi, captivating the audience with their melodious performances. The engaging Quiz on Ram Ji, orchestrated by Shruti and Kunika, our adept anchors, brought an interactive element to the event, testing the knowledge of the participants.
The cultural extravaganza continued with a mesmerizing dance performance by Bhavika, showcasing grace and precision. Manas took the stage, weaving emotions through a poignant poem, adding a poetic touch to the evening. The intellectual facet of the event unfolded with Visruti delivering a speech on management lessons derived from the life of lord Ram , imparting valuable insights to the audience.
The grand finale featured Nupur Ma'am and our talented singing team, harmonizing melodies that resonated throughout the auditorium. The event not only celebrated the pranpratishtha of Ram Mandir but also showcased the rich talents within the community. It was an evening that seamlessly blended music, dance, literature, and wisdom, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
The event was an absolute success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our faculty coordinator and student coordinators. Their efforts ensured that the event was celebrated in a memorable and joyous manner.

"Warmth in winter: NSS - Eco Club's Compassionate Blanket Distribution Drive" 9th January 2024

The NSS - Eco Club organized a compassionate blanket distribution drive for the underprivileged on 9th January, 2024. A total of 122 PGDM students enthusiastically volunteered for the Blanket Distribution Drive. The initiative aimed to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable individuals during the winter season by providing them with warmth and comfort. Volunteers from the club actively participated in the event, ensuring its smooth execution. Blankets were distributed to economically disadvantaged families, homeless individuals, and elderly citizens. The endeavour not only addressed an immediate need but also underscored the club's commitment to social responsibility. The distribution garnered positive attention and support from the local community, emphasizing the significant impact that such initiatives can have in fostering a sense of compassion and solidarity.

NSS-IIC Club Hosts Insightful Debate Competition in Celebration of National Constitution Day - 2023

NSS and IIC Club organized Debate Competitions on the topic “Preserving Cultural Heritage: Balancing Constitutional Rights and Cultural Sensitivities” on the occasion of National Constitution Day on 28th November, 2023. This competition successfully brought together diverse perspectives on the delicate balance between preserving cultural heritage and upholding constitutional rights. Around 13 teams from PGDM A & B from the batch (2023-25) actively participated in the competition. The competition fostered a spirit of intellectual exchange and highlighted the importance of open dialogue in addressing complex societal issues. As the nation reflects on its constitutional principles, this debate served as a timely reminder of the ongoing effort to create a harmonious and inclusive society that respects its diverse cultural heritage.
A panel of experienced judges evaluated the debates based on clarity of arguments, depth of analysis, and overall presentation skills. The winners demonstrated a nuanced understanding of the topic, providing well-reasoned arguments and practical solutions for reconciling constitutional rights with cultural preservation.

Blood Donation Drive and Thalassemia Testing in collaboration with Rotary Club of Regalia-2023

The Rotaract Club and NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji conducted a ‘Blood Donation and Thalassemia Testing Drive’ on 17th November,2023 from 10:00am - 4:00pm in association with the Rotary Club of Regalia. Students were made aware about the importance of donating blood and how it is essential for a human being. The students were also made aware about the problems associated with Thalassemia and how it is essential to get it checked. The students were surprised how thalassemia can affect your as well as your future generation’s lives. Hence getting it checked at an early stage can prevent a lot of problems and ensure a more secure future.
Students from PGDM Wing and the UG came forward to donate blood for this noble cause. Overall, the drive was successful with the students donating blood and getting to know about the benefits of donating blood as well as getting their Thalassemia checked.

The NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji, in a collaborative effort with the Prajana Foundation in Kalkaji, launched a heartwarming Donation Drive week. The children received a range of essential items, including books, clothing, and stationery. The NSS Club of Jagannath International Management School organized a Plantation Drive on 15/09/2023, in celebration of NSS Day, with the objective of instilling the concept of social welfare in students and promoting unbiased service to society. "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" (AKAM) -Independence Day, August 15th, 2023

As a part of its ongoing commitment to various initiatives, the NSS-Eco Club of JIMS Kalkaji enthusiastically participated in the nationwide celebrations of "76 years of Independence - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav." The club engaged in two impactful competitions, namely the Rangoli Making and Reel Making Competition, amplifying the spirit of patriotism and creativity. In honor of Independence Day 2023, which marked the 76th year of India's progressive journey as a sovereign nation, JIMS Kalkaji proudly orchestrated a Flag Hoisting Ceremony. This significant event was a moment of unity and pride as the flag of the nation was raised high. The festivities included the distribution of sweets to all, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared joy.

Every year 12th of July is celebrated as Paper Bag Day which aims to spread awareness among people about the benefits of using paper bags instead of plastic. JIMS Kalkaji's NSS-ECO Club had organized Paper Bag Day on 12th July,2023 which aims to raise awareness about sustainability and promote environmentally friendly practices. NSS-ECO club members distributed paper bags among the faculties which were made by the members of the club and they also apprised the adverse impacts of plastic bags on the environment.

International Yoga Day Celebrations on 21st June, 2023

International Day of Yoga has been celebrated on 21st June every year since its inception in 2015. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in Bharat or India. The celebrations of the International Yoga Day at JIMS Kalkaji were graced by the presence of Ms. Bhawana Sharma Certified yoga expert followed by other faculty, staff members and students. The yoga expert taught some important Workplace Yoga Techniques like Eyeball rotation, Neck Rotation, Shoulder Rotation,Lumber twists, Lateral bends, Elbow on table stretch, Seated Cat-Cow etc.which would help the participants in improving their health by increasing blood flow and boosting immunity.

Menstruation Hygiene Day on 28th May, 2023

The NSS-Eco Club of Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji organized Menstruation Hygiene Day with the collaboration of NGO - PRAJNA FOUNDATION, Kalkaji on the occasion of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 28th May,2023. Students from JIMS, Kalkaji educated the girls about the importance of maintaining hygiene and sanitation during menstruation and ways in which they can practice that. In addition, students also demonstrated yoga poses and exercises which the women can practice during their menstruation cycle to relieve pain and cramps.

Noise Pollution Awareness Drive on 1st May, 2023

The Eco Club of Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji organized a noise pollution awareness drive through pamphlets inside the college premise on 1st May, 2023. The objective of this activity was to make people aware about the increasing noise pollution in Delhi-NCR. Noise pollution is a growing concern in many parts of the world. Excessive and continuous noise can negatively impact human health, well-being, and quality of life. In recent years, there has been an increase in awareness about the harmful effects of noise pollution, and efforts have been made to raise awareness and promote solutions. NSS-ECO Club members and students actively participated in this awareness drive campaign.

Annual Blood Donation Camp on 10th April, 2023

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Rotary Regalia organized a Blood donation drive on Monday, 10 April 2023 from 9:00 AM onwards at the basement of college premises. The objective of this drive was to collect and donate a unit of blood to the Rotary Blood Centre, New Delhi. This noble deed was encouraged by the students, faculty and staff members of the institute. Students of PGDM & PGDM (IB) participated devotedly for the donation drive. They were appreciated for their efforts with contribution certificates issued by the Regional Blood Transfusion Centre.

Donation Drive – "Spreading the colors of happiness" on 7th March, 2023

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration Ethics & Values Foundation, Kalkaji organized a small donation drive on the occasion of Holi on 7 March 2023 at the NGO Premises. Student coordinators collected donations in cash and kind from the students and faculty of JIMS Kalkaji campus and went to Ethics and Values Foundation NGO to donate the collections received. The volunteers organized a small Holi party for the underprivileged children. They sang, danced, applied colours and distributed sweets among the children. Small games were organized where the children showcased their talent of singing and dancing.The objective of this event was to make the Holi cherished and memorable for the young minds. This exercise inculcated the feelings of oneness, harmony and love for mankind.

Preamble Reading Session on 22 February 2023

NSS Club in collaboration with IIC of JIMS Kalkaji observed the World Day of Social Justice on 22 February 2023 from 10:10 AM onwards at college premises. 67 students from PGDM and PGDM (IB) read the preamble from the online portal of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. Of India. The link for preamble was provided by the unit. Faculty read the preamble along with the students and explained its significance in a democratic form of government. Ideologies of liberty, equality, justice & fraternity and republic were discussed among the students. Faculty shared their view points on India being a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic country. Overall the event was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by the students. Winter Clothes Donation Drive on 23 December, 2022

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration Ethics & Values Foundation, Kalkaji organized a winter clothes donation drive to observe International Human Solidarity Day on 23 December 2022 from 1:30 pm onwards in Kalkaji. 10 student coordinators collected winter clothes from the students and faculty of JIMS Kalkaji campus and went to Ethics and Values Foundation NGO to donate the collections received. Winters in Delhi can be very harsh, especially for underprivileged people who don’t have access to woolen clothing or cover. A donation drive organized with this objective hopes to offer solutions for this problem. A small gesture from the fraternity of JIMS will be a boon for poverty stricken, deprived people to stay happy during the cruel winter season. Generosity showcased has helped the volunteers to collect clothes to keep the deprived ones comfortable in harsh winters. Sharing below are few of the snapshots from the drive.

International Day of Abolition Of Slavery- Donation Drive On 2nd December, 2022

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Kind Beings, NGO organized a donation drive to observe International Day of Abolition of Slavery on 2nd December 2022 in Govindpuri and Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. 10 student coordinators went to nearby slum areas and donated food, toys, cash and clothes to the underprivileged people. Heartwarming response and generous donations were received for the donation drive. The primary objective of organizing the Donation Drive was to help bridge the gap between people who are willing to aid the less fortunate and those in positions of necessity. The power to better the lives of others, is considered a privilege. It comes with a feeling of contentment and gratitude as well.

NSS-ECO Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with DGATS CARE Foundation organized a Plantation Drive in Connaught Place, Delhi on 25 September 2022 from 3:00 PM onwards to observe World Ozone Day. Student volunteers from JIMS and DGATS Care foundation acquired, planted and handed over the saplings in the outer circle park area. The objective of this drive was to create awareness and spread the message of saving our planet Earth. The aim was to control global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on the importance of keeping a clean environment.

NSS Club -sewing machine donation drive on 5th September, 2022

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji organized a sewing machine donation drive on the occasion of teacher's day i.e. 5 September 2022. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS and Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji donated 19 sewing machines to the needy women of nearby Kalkaji area. We believe that after owning the Sewing machines, the women will kick start their own business from home and earn a daily income to meet the basic needs. JIMS took this small initiative to support, uplift and transform the lives of the underprivileged women. Empowering women and encouraging them to live life with dignity was the main objective of this drive.

NSS club & Photography club of JIMS Kalkaji organized Reels Making Competition on the theme "Har Ghar Tiranga-Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" on 18 August 2022 to celebrate the 75th Independence Day. Students from PGDM & PGDM(IB) 2022-2024 actively participated and made a short video/reel with the "National Flag-Tricolor/Tiranga". The winners for the event were-1st position-Shruti Jha-PGDM A 2022-2024, 2nd position-Kanak Sharma- PGDM B 2022-2024 and 3rd position-Awantika- PGDM B 2022-2024. All the participants and winners were awarded with certificates. Overall the event inculcated the feeling of patriotism amongst the audience and the response was very overwhelming.

Celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga

JIMS, Kalkaji celebrated 'Har Ghar Tiranga', a campaign of hoisting the National Flag under the aegis of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' (AKAM) which is an ongoing celebration to commemorate the 75 glorious years of a progressive independent India. Bringing the flag collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation building. JIMS, Kalkaji play a huge role in spreading awareness about the 'Har Ghar Jhanda' programme and motivating families to hoist the National Flag (Tirangaa) during the Independence Week.

International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2022

International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21 June to raise awareness worldwide about the benefits of Yoga in daily life. Yoga brings balance between body, soul and mind. It helps us to understand the purpose of life and how to survive in the changing environment. JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi organized an online webinar on "Decoding Yoga in the Coding World" on the occasion of International Yoga day,21st June,2022 delivered by Ms Bhawana Sharma, certified Yoga Instructor from Maraji Desai National Institute of Yoga. She performed various Asanas . The yoga practice session was attended by Teaching, Non-Teaching, students and staff members. Overall, thirty five members participated in the International yoga day celebration. During this session, yoga asana, pranayama and meditation were practised by the faculty, students and staff of the under the direction of Ms Bhawana Sharma.

NSS CLEANLINESS DRIVE -EARTH DAY on 24th April, 2022

NSS-Eco club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Kind Beings NGO conducted a Cleanliness Drive to observe "Earth Day" on 24 April 2022 in Giri Nagar, Kalkaji Area from 10 am onwards. 10 students of PGDM 2021-2023 batch participated in the drive. The area was cleaned using broomsticks by JIMS Kalkaji and Kind beings NGO volunteers. In the end they all took an oath of keeping the home, locality and city clean. It was a unique experience for all of them. The main purpose of this drive was to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits and also to have a feeling of belongingness towards the society. The NSS-Eco club of JIMS Kalkaji organized "Awareness pledge" on the theme "Eco friendly Holi" on 16 March 2022 at JIMS, Kalkaji Lawn. 16 NSS Volunteers from PGDM & PGDM(IB) 2021-2023 took the pledge to maintain the true spirit of Holi by celebrating it with close friends and family members, to use herbal colours, protect environment and not waste water and promise to make Holi safe for stray animals. The students after taking the pledge distributed sweets to faculty and staff members.

Reel Making Competition on 10th March, 2022

"No plastic is fantastic" The Photography club in collaboration of NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji organized "Reels Making Competition" on the theme "Phasing out Single Use Plastics" on 10 March 2022 from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm at JIMS Auditorium. 25 students from PGDM 2021-2023 & PGDM(IB) 2021-2023 participated enthusiastically in the competition. Based on the theme, amazing Reels / short videos of maximum 1 minute were submitted on the online link circulated. The judges for the event were Dr. Anju Shukla, Assistant Professor, JIMS Kalkaji and Ms. Tanuja Puri, Assistant Professor, JIMS Kalkaji. The cash prizes and certificates were presented to the winners by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Following are the winners of the event.

NSS Club "ANIMAL FEED DRIVE" on 6th March, 2022

NSS, JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Kind Beings NGO conducted an Animal Feeding Drive on 6th March 2022in Govind Puri Area at 12:00 pm. 10 students of PGDM 2021-2023 batch participated in the drive and shared food with the voiceless animals like cows, dogs and birds. The animal world is full of magnificent and beautiful creatures who are a significant part of our biodiversity. Animal lovers are the best people to be around because no one else understands care and compassion better than them. If one has loved animals with all their heart, it's most unlikely that they've never been disappointed in return. The whole event was conducted with love and coordination among the volunteers and their genuine love and care towards society.

Celebration of "75 years of Independence- Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav"

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji as a part of the several initiatives celebrated "75 years of Independence- Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav", by participating in nation-wide competitions - Rangoli Making, DeshbhaktiGeet and Patriotic Lori writing organized by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. For the purpose of making the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a mass movement with Jan Bhagidaari, 17 Students from PGDM and PGDM (IB) participated in the patriotic cause on 13.01.2022. Beautiful rangoli designs, endearing loris and some great deshbhakt geet/songs were shared by the students. Overall the event helped in bringing the feeling of patriotism amongst the youth of this country.

The NSS Club, JIMS Kalkaji conducted a Book Donation Drive on 25th Dec 2021 in collaboration with Navjyoti Aatmanirbhar Kaushal Sansthan (NAKS) to celebrate Good Governance Day The Drive was conducted at Nav jyoti School, Hoshiarpur, Sector 51, Noida, Uttar Pradesh .The objective of the event was to fulfill the mission of giving back to the society and helping the community around. Plantation Drive on 20th December, 2021

NSS & Eco Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with NAKS (Navjyoti Aatmanirbhar Kaushal Sansthan) organized a Plantation Drive on 20.12.2021 at Pragati Maidan to celebrate International Human Solidarity Day. Volunteers of the club collected saplings from Nursery at ITO, Delhi and gathered near Bhairon Mandir, Pragati Madan to plant the saplings and conclude the drive. The objective of the event was to increase awareness and inculcate the feeling of solidarity in the society towards the environment.

Constitution Day Celebration on 26th November, 2021

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji as a part of the several initiatives under "75 years of Independence- Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav", celebrated the Constitution Day of India on 26 November 2021 from 12 pm -12:30 pm at college premises. 77 Students from PGDM and PGDM (IB) read the preamble from the online portal of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. Of India. An online quiz was also designed based on the preamble to be attempted by the students. The students gained knowledge of the five essential characteristics and four objectives of the Indian constitution from the preamble. NSS Club- Jashn e Diwali celebrations on 30th Oct, 2021

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji as a part of Jashn e Diwali celebrations initiated a Donation Drive in collaboration with Adhikari foundation, Kalkaji. 20 student coordinators went to a nearby women's shelter and donated sweets, coloring books, colors and food to the underprivileged people. Afterwards the students went to the Chirag Delhi red light area and donated food and clothes to the needy people living on streets and roads. After that the drive was concluded by visiting the Kalkaji Police station wherein the students met SHO Virender Singh and talked to him regarding spreading the awareness of cleanliness in the nearby areas. World Ozone Day (Planting Programme) on 16th September, 2021

PGDM Department of JIMS Kalkaji organized a Guest Lecture conservation of the ozone layer on September 16, 2021 by Ms. Kanchan Puri, Consultant, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. She mentioned in detail about carbon footprints, CFC and other reasons and consequences of ozone layer depletion. Students from PGDM 2021-2023: Purusharth and Shivam Tyagi won the Extempore Competition.

Webinar on "Plastic waste and its management" on 10th September, 2021

The Eco Club of Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji attended the Webinar organized by All Indian Plastic Industries Association on the topic "Plastic waste and its management" on 10 September, 2021 on zoom online meeting platform. The session was taken by Mr. Ravi Kumar Aggarwal, Patron and Chairman of Environment Committee AIPIA and Mr. Mihir K. Banerjee, Past President- IPI Secretary, Plastic Packaging Research and Development centre.The webinar was very informative and the speakers discussed about some major issues of plastic management like what is carbon footprints of plastic waste, single use plastic usage and problems, suitable and viable alternatives of plastic like banana leave, the importance of recycling industries in today's world, the three R's of waste management, up-cycling and many more things. Independence Day Celebration 2021

Be it for the flag hoisting ceremony, Poetry competition, slogan recitation or performing cultural events on Independence Day, every year, JIMS Kalkaji and its NSS Club celebrates the occasion with zeal and excitement. This year, however, the ceremony was organised by following COVID Protocol. Students are not coming to the Institute so National Anthem was played in the classes wherein Faculty and students observed standing ovation as a manner of gratitude towards warriors of nation. The day also witnessed hoisting ceremony by our Hon'ble Chairman, Dr Amit Gupta along with Director, Dr. Ashok Sharma in the premises of Institute where staff and Faculty members assembled keeping in view the guidelines of Social Distancing. National Anthem was played and everyone expressed gratitude towards the warriors of the country, then and now.

International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021

On the occasion of the seventh International Yoga Day, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi addressed the nation stressing the importance of yoga amid the pandemic situation. The theme for this year's International Yoga Day was 'Yoga for Wellness' in view of the coronavirus pandemic. Keeping up the spirit, NSS Club of JIMS, Kalkaji organized online yoga session for all its students, staff and faculties on ZOOM platform. The students of PGDM and PGDM IB participated in the event and performed various yogic asanaas. Family members also joined along with students and faculties as it was being performed from home keeping in view safety precautions amid ongoing pandemic situation. Students became aware of the importance of health in our lives and were motivated to develop the habit of yoga to keep themselves fit and healthy.

Celebration of India's 75 years of Independence- Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav

As per information received over mail from AICTE, the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence - "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" would commence 75 weeks prior to Independence Day 2022 and would extend upto Independence Day 2023. In this connection, Hon'ble Prime Minister launched the opening ceremony on 12th March 2021 from Gujarat. In light of the above, all educational institutions were requested to organise events on 12th March 2021. NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji is organizing and e-poster competition. All the Students of the PGDM III A & PGDM III (IB)2020-22 batch were invited to participate in the activity. Participants were required to prepare their poster and express their thoughts on their creatives through Google Meet. The best 2 entries were from Vikas Pandey and Aarushi Ajmani.

International Women's Day on 8th March, 2021

On the occasion of International Women's Day, CSR Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Shilpa Medicare Ltd organized a session for girl students of PGDM and PGDM (IB) 2020-22 batch to create awareness on importance of intimate Hygiene. The session was taken by Dr. Nidhi, Consultant Doctor, Shipra Medicare Ltd. Around 31 girls were present in the session it was initially started with the bright introduction about intimate hygiene and what we can do to practice it in our daily life and then little by little it got more interesting when students got to know about different types of products that exist to serve the purpose of intimate hygiene. Also it was emphasized that having a healthy life style along with it is really very important and we can achieve it by having a healthy diet, doing yoga regularly and by exercising.

Cancer Awareness Talk on 23rd February 2021

NSS Unit of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Niti Bagh, South Delhi organised a webinar regarding Cancer Awareness Talk on prevention of cancer and lifestyle changes. Dr. Leena Dadhwal, Consultant, Surgical Oncology and Dr Seema , Senior Surgeon , Oncologist from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, Niti Bagh took the session. They discussed that COVID has led to increase in stress level of every individual and research now suggests that chronic stress can actually make cancer spread faster. When the body becomes stressed, neurotransmitters like norepinephrine are released, which stimulates cancer cells. The aim of the event was to create cancer awareness amongst the students of JIMS Kalkaji. Approximately 50 students were present in the session.

An Evening with Elders: Visit to Old Age Home on 1st Feb, 2021

As a paragon of developing a humanistic society, NSS – CSR Club of JIMS, Kalkaji visited an old-age home, run by Sawhney Foundation, located at Rangpuri, New Delhi. The secretary of the old-age home welcomed the students and enlightened them about various problems faced by the elderly because of the weakened socio-cultural fabric. The elders spoke about the proliferation of issues pertaining to the aged, which are often overlooked. The wizened residents of the home enjoyed the visit and appreciated the cultural show, love and affection given by students during their show in their place. Students sang, danced with them and also made them participate in their singing and dancing. An evening was spent so fruitfully. They also cut a cake to mark as a symbol of celebration of their birthdays. Lots and lots of blessings were showered on the performing students. . The students pledged to work for educating society about problems and needs of senior citizens.

Old Age Home Donation drive on 12th January, 2021

NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji organized a visit to "Old Age Home : Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram" with the motive of humanity and service and to cater to the needs of unfortunate elders. Students visited the place and spent time with the elders , shared lunch, talked to them and listened to their chit chats which they are unable to share with anyone else. Also donations were made, in kind, to the caretakers for their proper care and fulfilling basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. Students gained an understanding about importance of old people in our lives and learnt the experience of human life challenges at the ground level.

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT Session on "Mental Fitness TIPS and Tricks" on 7th January, 2021

The Directorate of Students welfare, GGSIPU organized an online session on Mental Fitness under the aegis of 'Fit India Movement' on 07th January, 2021. The guest speaker for the session was Dr. Maneesh Gupta, MD(Gold Medalist), DNB Psychiatry and CST(Adult Psychiatry) who beautifully laminated the session with his worthy thoughts and suggestion on the topic. The speaker highlighted how putting positive control over our thinking and memory and concentration affects our mental fitness. He guided the audience, how to develop a positive thinking attitude that is expressive and expansive. JIMS, Kalkaji NSS-CSR Club coordinated the event.

Carbon Neutrality Pledge - "Not-Zero Net-Zero" on 12th Dec, 2020

Eco Club of JIMS, Kalkaji organized Carbon Neutrality Pledge - "Not-Zero Net-Zero" on 12th Dec, 2020 on occasion of 5th Anniversary of Paris Climate Agreement so to increase consciousness about Climate Change and to aware students about the "Not-Zero Net-Zero" campaign of AICTE in collaboration with TERRE (Technology, Education, Research and Rehabilitation for the Environment). The event was inaugurated by Mr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE. Recognizing the urgent need, TERRE Policy Centre's Smart Campus Could Network-SCCN-is determined to unleash the high-octane energy of youth in educational institutes. They are encouraging all the universities in the world to take a pledge of carbon neutrality called 'Not-Zero Net-Zero'. Taking pledge is to openly express the determination to follow the advice of the thousands of the scientists who are engaged in IPCC-Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Pledging 'Not-Zero Net-Zero' on 12th December is a small step to pilot the Carbon Neutrality in university campuses and the odyssey from carbon-addicted economy to 'carbon net-zero world'. The pledge was taken as provided by AICTE & TERRE.

National Constitution Day on November 26, 2020

Constitution is not only a legal document but a guide to live life. To commemorate the occasion of National Constitution Day, an online event was organized by NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji regarding the need, history, key timelines, preamble and makers of constitution. A presentation was presented by the volunteers and all the key factors were discussed. There was also cross questioning as well as great interaction between the students and the faculty. Students of the campus took digital pledge to undertake their personal and professional life in conformity with legal perspective and disciplines. Students gained an insight about how constitution was enacted and stages during its enactment.

To carry forward the CSR mandate, CSR Club of JIMS Kalkaji in collaboration with Global Hunt Foundation and Unicharm India organized an online session on Women Menstrual Hygiene. Swachhata Drive : Ek Kadam Swachhata ki Aur

"We may not be the one who spreading the garbage but we can at least clean them, becausecleanliness is the very first step through which we can attain a healthy lifestyle and a developed nation."
NSS Unit of JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi organized Swachhata Drive as a part of yearly Swachhata Pakhwada Activity. Due to COVID-19 constraints, activity was conducted by NSS Volunteers in areas around their home. NSS volunteers created awareness among their neighbours and motivated youngsters to undertake eco-friendly measures so as to promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. In context of this students of JIMS joined hands and worked together for a clean and self-reliant India by taking initiative towards making our Bapu's dream come true and step ahead towards "Swachhta hi seva hai". All of us, need to start from ourselves by keeping our workplace as well as our houses clean. "and fulfilling A CLEAN AND GREEN INDIA.

NSS Day Celebration on 30th September 2020

NSS Club, JIMS Kalkaji celebrated NSS Day on 30th September 2020. To commemorate the event, activities like Eco club Activity on Plantation and Stray Animal Care, Rotaract Club Activity on Awareness on Blood Donation and Old Age Home Visit and Open Mike competition were organized. Harshita Anand of PGDM (IB) 2020-2022 won first position and Arjun Kapil of PGDM 2020-2022 won second position in open mike competition. JIMS Kalkaji practiced its core value of environment sustainability through the celebration of NSS day to keep the social spirit alive with the implementation purview on the democratic aspect of focus from 'me' to 'we'. Students enthusiastically participated with taking the pledge for the economic and financial independence, discussing on sensitive concerns such as organ donation and experiments of drugs on animals to climate changes to health concerns of Covid-19. The event was much comprehensive as it touched upon sensitive concerns of adopting stray animals as pets and promoting greener planet.

Independence Day 2020 Celebration

Be it for the flag hoisting ceremony, Poetry competition, slogan recitation or performing cultural events on Independence Day, every year, JIMS Kalkaji celebrates the occasion with zeal and excitement. This year, however, the ceremonies and programmes were organised with a 'virtual' twist. Ensuring that the feeling of patriotism lives on, JIMS Kalkaji celebrated Independence Day live on Google Meet with same patriotic fervor on Aug 14, 2020. The event was organised by the members of the JIMS- NSS Club. All the faculties, staff and students assembled at a common Google Meet Link. Even in these difficult times of Covid-19, students celebrated the occasion with great pomp.

Channelizing the creativity of students, three events were organized -
1. Digital Poster with Slogan Writing Contest – Theme – Tribute to COVID Warriors
2. Debate on the topic – "Strategic Role of India in Changing Dynamics on Global Front "
3. Patriotic Poetry recitation competition

Eight students participated in Poster Making Competition, 2 teams comprising of 4 students participated in Debate and six students participated in Poetry recitation contest. The poetries by students filled everyone with a feeling of pure patriotism.

Republic Day Celebrations on 25th January 2020

JIMS Kalkaji, celebrated 71st Republic Day of Indian Constitution with unprecendent patriotic fervour on Jan 25, 2020. The event was organised by the members of the JIMS- NSS (National Service Scheme). The event started with swearing-in ceremony of the Preamble by all present in the auditorium. A short speech was presented by Ms Priya followed by patriotic song singing by Mr Anmol, sung in choir by all present in auditorium. Then Ms Aarti shared a patriotic poetry on Indian Soldiers, which was heart-touching. The event ended with singing of National Anthem.

Remembering iconic revolutionary freedom fighter – Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary– 23rd January 2020

Subhas Chandra Bose's 122nd birth anniversary was observed throughout the country on Thursday, Jan 23, 2020. The day is celebrated to celebrate his unmatched love and patriotism for the country. Also famous as Netaji, Subhas Chandra Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter who refused to bow down to the British army and rose to incredible powers and fame during those days. To commemorate the day, a documentary was shown in all the classes of PGDM and PGDM (IB) on Netaji's life and achievements.

Visit to Old Age Home: CSR Initiative on 20th Jan 2020

With an objective to create awareness among students about their neighbourhood, to sensitize them to the predicaments and problems of aged people and to make them aware of the joy of serving and being with the aged, CSR Club organized visit to Old Age Home – Guru Vishram Sewa Ashram located in Aaali Gaon, Near Mohan Estate Metro Station, Badarpur, New Delhi. The entire experience of the old age home visit was a complete package of many emotions felt on the part of the students as well as the people residing there. The students joined hands and greeted them with aNamaste, some went along shaking hands and some said a hello. To break the monotony of their lives, they conversed with the ladies, sang with them and for them. After that, they moved to the men`s section and talked to the gentlemen there. A small act was put together by the students to uplift the mood of the elderly which involved singing songs, dancing and playing the guitar for them. The students heard their stories, spend time with them and also received worldly wisdom.The old age home habitants felt ecstatic and joyful with the students around. They donated consumables for them through the management. We were able to make out that they were very happy to have us there. Though they spent only a few hours with them, the elderly made them realize the value of our grandparents and the tenderness with which they need to take care of them. The students realized that love for their family, particularly their grandparents has grown stronger and deeper with this visit.

Compost bins manure dispersal in JIMS Kalkaji garden

JIMS Kalkaji uses compost bins to convert biodegradable food waste into organic manure for the purpose of gardening in the college campus. On 13th Dec, 2019 the manure around 2 kg was dispersed in the campus garden by the gardener and students of Compost committee. The compost bins will be again refilled now with kitchen organic waste.

Celebration of Constitution Day on 26th Nov, 2019

India is governed in terms of its Constitution, which was adopted by the Constitution Assembly on 26th November 1949 and came into force from 26th January, 1950. The Preamble of Indian Constitution records the aims and aspirations of the people of India and reflects the basic spirit of the Constitution. To spread the importance of the Indian Constitution, India observes November 26 as the Constitution Day of India. The day has also been declared as the Constitution Day to spread awareness about its architect Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

To commemorate the day, different activities were organized in the campus of JIMS Kalkaji for the students of PGDM and PGDM (IB). The activities conducted were –

  • A Guest lecture was conducted on the theme – Constitution and Social Justice.
  • Reading of Preamble at appointed time of 11:00 hrs.
  • Live Telecast of Address of Hon'ble President, Vice President, Prime Minister from the 'LOK SABHA SECRETARIAT'
  • Quiz Competition by Bharat Vikas Parishad on the theme –"Bharat Ko Jano". Certificates were awarded to students of team who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

JIMS, Kalkaji organized Vigilance Awareness Week from 28th October, 2019 to 2nd November, 2019. Activities like "Citizen Integrity Pledge", Group Discussion on National Unity "My Vision-Corruption Free India", Essay Writing competition on "Eradicating Corruption in Public Life" and Poster and slogan making competition on "Moral Values and Ethics" were organized.

National Unity Day on 31st October 2019

JIMS Kalkaji celebrated National Unity Day on 31st October 2019 to mark 144th birth anniversary of Honourable Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Group discussions on the topic "My Vision-Corruption Free India" were conducted to encourage PGDM & PGDM (IB) students to throw light on the struggles and integration efforts made by the first Deputy PM of India who led India into a united & independent nation. All the students took Rashtriya Ekta Pledge and promised to preserve the unity, integrity & security of the Nation.

Annual Blood Donation Camp on 4th Sep, 2019

We at JIMS Kalkaji believe in raising awareness about the importance of the life-saving gift of blood donation as it is a great service to the society. Donating blood not only saves multiple lives but also gives an opportunity to add value to life and teaches humanity. Keeping in view this noble objective, the Annual Blood Donation Camp was organized on Wednesday 4th Sep, 2019 at JIMS, Kalkaji in association with Rotary Club of Delhi Nirvana and Rotary Blood Bank. Students enthusiastically participated in this event and donated blood. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS Kalkaji, Prof.(Cdr.)Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji and Prof. (Dr.) J. K. Batra, Director, JIMS Kalkaji also visited the venue and encouraged and motivated the students. Rotary Blood Bank issued certificates and presented mementoes to all the participants.

NSS Activity – Skit on "Awareness on Pollution created by Idol Immersion" on 30th August, 2019

JIMS Kalkaji PGDM 2019-21 batch performed a skit on "Awareness on Pollution created by Idol Immersion" on 30th August, 2019 in the campus auditorium. Students through their act tried to tell people that the floating materials released through idol in the river and lake after decomposition results in eutrophication of the river and lakes. The toxic chemicals used in making the idols tend to cause serious problems of water pollution and also pose a serious threat to the underwater ecological system.

Installation of Compost Bins on 19th August, 2019

Jagannath International Management School Kalkaji, in association with Global Fighters Foundation launched Compost Bins in its canteen area on 19th August, 2019 to convert biodegradable food waste into organic manure for the purpose of gardening in the college campus. This is an effective step in raising students' awareness of composting and environmental issues. Introducing the concept of separating food waste and educating its environmental impacts on college campus will create an atmosphere where students are able to actively engage in the maintenance of their campus community and environment. It's a step towards a safer and a greener tomorrow.

International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019

International Yoga Day was celebrated in the auditorium of the Campus on 21st June 2019. Ms. Varsha & Ms. Tamanna, renowned Yoga Trainers and Therapists gave guidance on Physical, Mental & Spiritual Practice. They also conducted many asanas. All the students, faculty and staff members actively participated in yoga exercises to bring harmony and peace in their lives.
