Orientation - Convocation

JIMS Kalkaji held its 16th Annual Convocation Ceremony for PGDM & PGDM (IB), 2021-23 batch was held on 27th August,2023 at 11:00 AM at the college auditorium.
The ceremony started with a welcome address followed by Saraswati Vandana and lightning of the lamp. The Convocation ceremony was declared open by the Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta. The function proceeded with the presentation of the annual report consisting various remarkable achievements of the institute by Dr. Anuj Verma. Post this, the meritorious students were awarded with prizes by the Chief Guest, Ms. Atishi Marlena Singh.
The ceremony continued with sharing some pearls of wisdom of believing in oneself and make the change happen by the Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta. This was followed by the speech of the Honourable Chief Guest, Ms. Atishi Marlena Singh where she enlightened the graduating batch to be responsible towards themselves, towards their family and towards their nation.
The speech was followed by Diploma Distribution Ceremony to the graduates by all the dignitaries on the dais and with presentation of memento to the chief guest by the Chairman and the Director. With this, the convocation was declared closed followed by pledging honour to our country by singing the National anthem. The convocation ceremony ended with academic photograph, refreshments, and with memories of lifelong happiness, inspiring students to achieve great heights.

Orientation on the "Campus to Corporate" session was organized for PGDM and PGDM (IB) 2022-24 Batch by JIMS Kalkaji on 17th July 2023 to gear up final-year students for placement activities. Dr. Saniya Chawla started the session with the importance of "Time Management" implying the Log Book Method, Priority Matrix, and the impact of the 80/20 rule to inhibit discipline in the work culture. The second session was taken forward by Dr. Gopika Kumar on SMART Goals of Students to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Bound Academic and Professional Targets. Next, Dr. Sanjeela Mathur briefed the students on the MOCK test the essential criterion of placements in the last 5-6 years followed by Interview preparations.This was followed by a lecture on "Effective Use of Social Media For Your Professional Journey" by Coursera Head, Mr. Aditya Rajdhan. Students had a quiet interactive session with Mr. Aditya on various professional certifications to enhance their resumes. Post lunch the session started with Dr. Anupa Sen briefing the students on Placement Pedagogy, In & Outs of various rounds. The last session was "Corporate Expectations" by Mr. Anshul Sehra, Alumni of JIMS 2011-13 batch. Students were keen to hear his journey from Campus to Corporate and within a short span how he realized the slogan 'Money attracts Money'.

JIMS Kalkaji welcomed the new batch, PGDM & PGDM (IB) 2023-2025 on July 3, 2023, an auspicious day of Guru Purnima. Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji welcomed and addressed the students in stretching their managerial mindsets to leadership with adding ‘Curiosity’ to the three prominent Cs: Competence, Confidence and Communication. Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, addressed in his motivational address to the students to overcome the challenge of overload of information. He advised students to maintain a healthy work-life balance and academic rigour. GTB Expert CA Mr. Rahul Kapur, Partner Growth, delivered a stimulating address to our budding professionals. Mr. Shalabh Saxena, Partner Risk, GTB guided students for punctuality and regularity for maintaining attendance to enhance their professional skills set. Mr. Vishwanath P, Partner-Growth, CA Rajeev Jain, Director, GTB, Mr. Karan Jain, Director, CA Vivek Bansal, CA Mr. Kapil Jain and CA Mr. Deepak Agrawal, Director, Growth Advisory guided students on the various financial aspects such as Transfer Pricing, Due Diligence, etc.
The second day of the Orientation was held on July 4, 2023. The session aimed to familiarize the students with various aspects of the academic and extracurricular activities at the institute. The session began with various Clubs introduction followed by a guest lecture by Mr. Ashwin Bhatia, Corporate Trainer, Leadership Coach & a Motivational Speaker who spoke on Designing and Creating Success. Sessions on life at JIMS, academic regulations, academic calendar, roles and responsibilities of the Anti-Ragging Committee, Mentoring Cell, alumni interactions, examination regulations, time management, Foreign Language options and psychometric test were taken by JIMS Faculty members. Overall, the orientation session provided students with essential information and support to facilitate their smooth transition into the institute.

Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji organized the two day Foundation programme for PGDM & PGDM (IB) 2023-2025 Batch on 21st and 22nd July 2022. The aim of the ceremony was to familiarize the students with the curriculum, rules and regulations, teaching methodologies, placement process and extracurricular activities of the institute. Students were addressed by Dr. Neelam Tandon & Dr. Navneet Gera, HODs, JIMS who welcomed and motivated the new batch to study with sincerity and excel in their academic and professional spheres of life. The event further had JIMS special Tank Tale Episode with Mr. Amit Bagga, CEO, CMO & Co-founder of Darganj Hospitality. He shared his Entrepreneurial Journey and Shark Tank experiences. Being the International Yoga Day on 21st June 2023, a session by Mrs. Bhawana Sharma, Yoga Instructor from Yoga Certification Board under Ministry of Ayush was organised to acquaint students with the significance of being their personal wellbeing and fitness. To embark on an enriching journey of knowledge and personal growth we had Mr. Ankit Jhamb, Chief Learning Officer from Grant Thornton Bharat who shared his views on Personality Upbringing & Soft Skill Development Aspects of the our Program. Another segment of the Foundation Day acquainted students with the another Tank Tale Episode with Geetika Gupta & Gaurav Gupta, Co-Founders & Chief Pilot – MOPP Foods. They also appeared on Shark Tank Season 2. They shared their experiences and their entrepreneurial roller-coaster and provided students learning with the significance of being a true professional in the corporate field. We witnessed the zeal, camaraderie, and determination of our future leaders as they immerse themselves in a dynamic learning experience. These two days set the stage for brilliance and ignite the passion within each student.

JIMS, Kalkaji organized the Convocation ceremony of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students of 2020-22 batch in the campus auditorium on Saturday, 3rd September 2022. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Rajiv Kishore Dubey, Former Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Canara Bank. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS,Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Co-founder & Director, Micromax Informatics Ltd., Mr. Vijay Rai, ChiefGrowth Officer – Asia Pacific & Executive Board Member, DayOne Tech and Dr.AnujVerma Director, JIMS, Kalkaji who congratulated students for completing their education with JIMS and starting their corporate career. PGDM toppers were: 1st position by Saurabh Kumar Singh, 2nd position by Mohit Gupta and 3rd position by IshaKushwah. PGDM (IB) toppers were: 1st position by HarshitaAnand, 2nd position by Anand Gupta and 3rd position by KoyelKaruri. They were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements and were awarded prizes and medals.

Ltd. (EVPAPA), Founder & CEO, DSPIN Consulting Private Limited was organized to acquaint students with the significance of being a true professional in the corporate field. Also a special lecture on "Leadership Dynamics in the Evolving VUCA World" was taken by Mr. Vivek Kalia, Head Business Operations, Airbus. Vote of Thanks was given by Prof. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji and Dr. Navneet Gera, HOD, PGDM (IB) who enlightened and motivated all students with their encouraging words. Sessions on life at JIMS, introduction to JIMS Clubs, alumni interaction, academic and examination regulations, time management and psychometric test were taken by JIMS Faculty members.

A two-day Campus to Corporate for PGDM and PGDM (IB) batch 2021-23 was organized on July 18-19, 2022. Students were oriented for their interview skills and placements by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. Preeti Dhawan, Associate Professor, LSR, Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Gopika Kumar, Dr. Sanjeela Mathur, Dr. Navneet Gera, Dr. Mukul Mishra, Dr. Nupur Rao, Dr. Anju Shukla, Ms. Jyoti Kukreja and Ms. Shilpi Yadav, Ms. Anupa Sen, HOD Placements and Alumni. Mr. Udit Bhattacharji, Chief Guest took a session on "Creative transformation for better Job Opportunities" which was very motivating and inspitring for students.

The Convocation ceremony of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students of JIMS, Kalkaji (2019-21) was held in the Auditorium of JIMS, Kalkaji on Saturday, 11th November 2021. The occasion was graced by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS and Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji who congratulated students for completing their education with JIMS and their corporate career. PGDM toppers were: 1st position by Drishti Kathuria, 2nd position by Surbhi Kulshrestha and 3rd position by Inesha Aggarwal. PGDM (IB) toppers were: 1st position by Manik Aggarwal, 2nd position by Rasleen Kaur Bhasin and 3rd position by Nikita Thakur.

The Convocation ceremony of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students of JIMS, Kalkaji (2018-20) was held in the Auditorium of JIMS, Kalkaji on Saturday, 14th August 2021. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Ashok Sawhney, Chairman, Swiss Military Lifestyle Products Pvt. Ltd.. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS and Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji who congratulated students for completing their education with JIMS and their corporate career.

The aim of the ceremony was to familiarize the students inducted with the curriculum, rules and regulations, teaching methodologies, placement process and extracurricular activities of the institute. A Special address by corporate guest Mr. Debargha Deb, Regional Head HR Dabur India Ltd. North Region was organized to acquaint students with the signifance of being a true professional in the corporate field. Also a special lecture on "Expectation Management" was taken by Ms. Lata Singh, Founder-Director, Meraviglia EQ Academy. The innovative initiative by ANDC-JIMS Startup Incubator was introduced to the students by Mr. Shadab Mobin, CEO-Business Incubator, ANDC who shared insights on the entrepreneurship and start up culture at JIMS. key note address was taken by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji who enlightened and motivated students with his encouraging words. Sessions on life at JIMS, Clubs, Corporate connect, ICE Breaking, hopes and fears & goal setting were taken by JIMS Faculty members.

A Two Days Effective session 'Campus to Corporate' was organized for PGDM & PGDM (IB) batch 2021 – 2023 on July 23 and 24, 2021. Students were introduced to Academic and Examination Regulations, events scheduled in the coming year and Placement norms. Welcome Address was given by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji. Students were also briefed on career options with electives and pearls of wisdom from the Corporate. Mr Bimal Rath, CEO & Managing Director, Think Talent, Former CHRO Nokia took a session. Honourable Chairman, JIMS Kalkaji also addressed the students and wished them good fortune for the future.
Both days covered the experiential insights from various corporate personnel. Mr. Kirat Singh Kalra, Managing Partner, Adroyt shared that fear fight is essential for excellence during interview. Sessions were taken on the art and science of managing time and stress, Startup Incubator plans, job opportunities in the corporate world. Mr. Rahul Passi, Assistant Manager, DCM Sriram Ltd. And Shivam Dhaundiyal, Territory Sales Manager, Reckitt Benckiser also addressed students in the Alumni section.

A two-day Orientation Programme for the 2020-22 Batch of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students was organized by JIMSKalkaji on 17th August and 18th August 2020. The Guest of Honour, Dr. G.P. Rao addressed the students. Students were also addressed by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Prof.(Dr) Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMSKalkaji .There was Alumni Interaction by Mr. Amir Ahmed, Manager, PVR Cinema, Mr. Harshit Garg, Sr. Manager, Magic Pin, Mr. Bhavneet, Singh, Deputy General, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. Professional Counselling Session was taken by Dr. Kanika Khandelwal, Associate Professor, Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), New Delhi. Introduction of National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) & Wadhwani Foundation was taken by Ms Vijaya, Regional Head, Wadhwani Foundation. Mr. Shadab Mobin, Chief Executive Officer, ANDC inStart Foundation (Business Incubator) gave introduction of ANDC –JIMS Incubator.

Foundation Classes were conducted successfully for PGDM and PGDM-IB 2020-2022 Batches from 4th August 2020 to 14th August 2020. Foundation Classes were conducted for varied subjects like Managerial Economics & International Business, Quantitative Techniques in Management and Financial Accounting. The objective of Foundation Classes was to ensure that students from different streams are on the same footing so they come at par.

A two-day workshop on “Campus to Corporate” was organized for PGDM & PGDM (IB) batch 2019-2021 on 29th & 30th July 2020 through Google Meet. Students were introduced to Academic and Examination Regulations, events scheduled in the coming year and Placement norms. Welcome Address was given by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji. Students were also briefed on career options with electives and pearls of wisdom from the Corporate. Mr. Alokk Bhattacharji, Founder Member, The Continuum spoke on Journey to the Corporate World – Facing uncertainty and Mr. Vijay Rai, MD (Asia Pacific & EMEA Mkts), Saviour MNC based out of Delaware US. Prior to Ex-President of National HRD Network: Delhi & NCR Chapter & Vice Chairman ISTD Gurgaon took a session on Mind Set, Skill Sets & Tool Set.

On second day of workshop, Ms. Megha Mittal, Founder Differentia Consultants, discussed insights on Interview skills. Students were also shared knowledge on Time and Stress Management, Pareto Principle, Psychometric Testing and Profiling and business communication by JIMS, Kalkaji faculty members. Alumni also addressed the students on how to groom themselves for the corporate world. Interesting sessions on it were taken by Mr. Sandeep Mittal, Senior Manager, HSBC, Mr. Anshul Vohra, Entrepreneur, Mr. Jatin Sarin, Sr. Distribution Sales Executive, Perfetti, Gwalior and Mr. Sachin Narang, Senior Manager, HDFC AMC Ltd.

The Convocation of PGDM and PGDM (IB) Students of JIMS, Kalkaji (2017-19) was held in the Auditorium of JIMS, Kalkaji on Saturday, 21st September 2019. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Muktesh Chander, Special Commisioner (Operations), Delhi Police. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Introduction of National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) & Wadhwani Foundation was taken by Mr Asgar Ahmad, Director NEN and Ms Vijaya, Regional Manager Wadhwani Foundation. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Secretary to Govt. Haryana, Urban Local Bodies Department. The occasion was also graced by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji, Prof. (Dr.) J.K. A two-day Orientation Programme for the 2018-20 Batch of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on 2nd and 3rd July 2018. Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Business Head of Reliance Retail Ltd, presided over the orientation day ceremony.

The Convocation of PGDM and PGDM (IB) Students of JIMS, Kalkaji (2015-17) was held in the Auditorium of JIMS, kalkaji on Saturday, 23rd September 2017. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Alok Prakash Mittal, Member Secretary, AICTE.

A two day Orientation Programme for the 2017-19 Batch of PGDM and PGDM (IB) students was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on 1st and 3rd July 2017. The Chief Guest Mr. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director of Polaris India Pvt Ltd., with an enriched experience of working in YAMAHA, HERO group presided over the orientation ceremony.
