FDP ON The Happiness Advantage in Educational Institutions
On 8th May 2026, Dr. Palak Verma conducted the Faculty Knowledge Circle session on “The Happiness Advantage in Educational Institutions”, focusing on the importance of organizational happiness in enhancing faculty well-being, engagement, collaboration, and institutional effectiveness. The session explained key frameworks from positive psychology and organizational behavior, including the PERMA Model, PERMA-V Model, and PERMA+4 Framework, highlighting dimensions like positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment, vitality, mindset, work environment, and economic security. Practical strategies such as gratitude initiatives, peer mentoring, recognition and reward systems, wellness programs, mindfulness activities, autonomy in work design, and psychological capital development were discussed, along with best practices from Netflix, Google LLC, and Zappos.com, Inc. Interactive discussions addressed challenges related to faculty well-being, psychological safety, emotional culture, and the role of technology and emotional intelligence, concluding with reflections on how institutions flourish when educators flourish.
