FACULTY KNOWLEDGE CIRCLE SESSION ON MASTERING THE ART OF PUBLISHING IN TOP-TIER JOURNALS

Dr. Navneet Gera delivered a session on mastering the art of publishing in top-tier journals on 22nd August 2025. He underscored the importance of choosing a compelling subject—preferably of national or social relevance, or genuinely novel—and adhering to a rigorous structure and style. Framing the study with a strong introduction, he noted, is crucial: by the third or fourth paragraph the paper should clearly articulate the motivation and research questions. Dr. Gera also discussed appropriate sampling strategies and the scientific design of questionnaires. He concluded by emphasizing that the discussion section should be analytically robust, offering clear theoretical contributions and practical implications.

Dr. Nupur Rao, Professor, JIMS Kalkaji shared her knowledge on one of the most insightful topics: ‘Decoding the National Logistics Policy 2022’ on May 7, 2024 in the Conference Room from 11:30-AM-12:30 PM. The session on PM Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity delves into the ambitious infrastructure initiative launched by the Government of India to revolutionize the country's logistics and transportation sector. This comprehensive plan aims to integrate various modes of transport, including roadways, railways, waterways, and airways, into a unified network to enhance efficiency and reduce logistics costs. Through detailed discussions and presentations, the session provides insights into how PM Gati Shakti is set to transform India's transport landscape, making it more integrated, efficient, and sustainable, thereby propelling the nation towards a new era of economic development and connectivity.

FACULTY KNOWLEDGE CIRCLE SESSION VI

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Anju Shukla, Assistant Professor, JIMS Kalkaji shared her knowledge on one of the most insightful topic: Assessment of Leadership Styles on May 16, 2023. The session commenced with the self-evaluation of the leadership styles. The scale of six leadership styles as Visionary, Democratic, Coaching, Affiliate, Pace-Setting and Commanding were deployed to assess. The NLP technique of ‘Perceptual Positioning’ was deployed to resolve oft-occurring conflicts that predominate every individual in today’s modern world. Overall, the session was found most insightful and useful by all the faculty members.

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Sanjeela Mathur, Associate Professor, JIMS Kalkaji shared her knowledge on one of the most insightful topic: ‘Design Thinking for Innovation and Decision Making’ on May 9, 2023. The session commenced with the problem of a stuck truck under the bridge which a schoolboy was able to solve with his innovative thinking. The session which was based on case discussion had several key aspects such as being a right mix of sociology, psychology, divergent thinking and convergent thinking. There are various techniques to solve a problem such as either to amplify good, eliminate bad, explore opposites, questioning the assumptions among many more. The approach is all about creating an empathy map that creates a point of value. Overall, the session was found most insightful and useful by all the faculty members.

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Gopika Kumar, Assistant Professor, JIMS Kalkaji shared her knowledge on one of the most insightful topics: ‘Effective Communication Skills’ on May 3, 2023. The session commenced with a mosaic of soft skills which are more than 100 in number. The focal point among all these sets of soft skills being ‘Communication Skills’ with the extent of use of body language was well taken up with demonstration of various hand gestures and body postures. Dr. Gopika also discussed the various inhibitions that impede the stage performance and shared various tricks and tips of how to do it better. Overall, the session was found most insightful and useful by all the faculty members.

Faculty Knowledge Circle Session III

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Navneet Gera, Professor and HOD-PGDM (IB), JIMS Kalkaji shared his knowledge on one of the most insightful topic: ‘Foreign Trade Policy: An Overview and EPCG Scheme’ on April 19, 2023. The session was most interesting as it discussed the Ministry of External Affairs, Aayat Niryat Schemes, Documentation process, HS code, etc. Dr. Gera mentioned various incentives available to the exporters and contribution of India to World GDP. He also further delineated RCMC, DGCI & SEPZs and SEZs becoming more prominently relevant. The Programme Coordinator, Dr. Jyoti Kukreja, Assistant Professor, JIMS Kalkaji organized and coordinated the session. All the faculty members were highly appreciative as they found it highly informative.

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Neelam Tandon, Professor and HOD-PGDM, JIMS Kalkaji shared her knowledge on one of the most insightful topic: ‘Tricky Inflation’ on March 14, 2023. The session was most interesting as it discussed various types of inflation and its impact on economy.

FDP on "NSE NSMART Software" on 27th February 2023

Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji organised a Faculty Development Program on “NSE NSAMRT Software” with renowned speakers Mr. Himanshu Arora, Stock Market & BFSI Trainer and Mr. Sajal Choudhary from NSE Academy on 27th February 2023. This session was organised especially for faculty members under the head “Train the Trainer” so that they can acquaint students towards Simulator based trading. In this session speakers taught how to trade through NSE NSMART Simulator Software. The session was also attended by the Office Bearers of Finance club. Faculty coordinator for this session Dr. Sandeepa Kaur introduced the Trainers to the audience. This session was designed to make attendees understand active trading, day trading and swing trading with the use of live market environment. “

PGDM and PGDM (IB) department of JIMS Kalkaji organized 'Faculty Knowledge Circle' chaired by Dr. Anuj Verma, Director, JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Mukul Mishra, Associate Professor and Controller of Examination, JIMS Kalkaji shared his knowledge on one of the most contemporary topics: 'AI in Chatbots: ChatGPT' on February 21, 2023. The session was most interesting as it discussed difference between Google and ChatGPT along with its various use and misuse. The designing of this AI tool, its limitations and scope were discusse.

FDP on Systematic Literature Review on 12th October, 2022

Jagannath International Management School, Kalkaji, New Delhi organized an Online Faculty Development Program on “Systematic Literature Review & Bibliometric Analysis” on October 12th, 2022 by Dr. Sahil Gupta. Dr. Gupta discussed the importance and steps involved in conducting Systematic Literature Review with various research paper publications from different functional areas. He also discussed that what precaution to be taken care while conceptualizing research papers. He also showed hand on session for doing Bibliometric analysis using software tool Vosviewer. The FDP sessions turned out to be a very insightful for the entire participants for publishing research papers in the area of “Systematic Literature Review “

FDP ON “QUALITY RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: FOUNDATION AND DATA ANALYSIS” ON 23rd and 24th May, 2022

JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "Quality Research Methodology: Foundation and Data Analysis” on 23rd and 24th May 2022. On 23rd May 2022, the session was delivered by Professor Dr. C. S. Sharma, SRCC, Delhi University. He took session on topics- Meaning of Reality: Traditional, Modern and Post- Modern View and its application in qualitative research, Epistemology and Ontology of Qualitative Research, Grounded Theory Approach: Identifying Codes, Categories, Themes and Concepts and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis and how to work on transcripts. On 24th May 2022, the session was delivered by Dr. H. K. Dangi, Associate Professor at Department of Commerce, Delhi University. He took sessions on topics- Content and thematic analysis, Sentiment analysis, Working on images, video and social media data and writing research paper using Qualitative Data Analysis. The two days FDP on qualitative research and methods was a unique learning experience for faculty members and it enhanced their level of understanding towards qualitative research.

FDP ON “How to Develop MOOC Courses" on 16th May, 2022

JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "How to Develop MOOC Courses" on Monday 16th May, 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Tejinderpal Singh, Associate Professor at University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Marketing and Business Communications (IJMBC). Dr. Singh is a successful MOOC instructor who has developed and delivered the ‘Digital Marketing’ MOOC courses ranked among the top 15 online courses worldwide (amongst the top 5 in India) on the SWAYAM platform of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Dr. Tejinderpal Singh deliberated the session on the importance of MOOC courses and how to develop a MOOC course. He explained how MOOC courses can be engaging and interactive and how it helps to contribute back to society. He discussed the framework of instructional course plan design for developing MOOC courses by faculty members. He emphasized the initiation phase to define the Course learning Outcome and measure it followed by subject content development. Also, explained how content development along with video development strategic planning is important in making MOOC course content effective and engaging. Dr. Singh explained how the video of short duration with supporting E-resources can keep viewers engaged. Dr. Tejinderpal Singh also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences in developing MOOC courses. The session was very informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.

FDP ON “OUTCOME-BASED LEARNING & HAPPINESS” ON 7TH MAY, 2022

JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "Outcome-based Learning & Happiness" on Thursday 7th May 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur on different sessions on the topic "Action on Happiness" and "Outcome Based Learning". Dr. Prabhat Pankaj initiated his address by highlighting the faculty members on pleasant life, good life & meaningful life. He focused on the 4 pillars of student-centric teaching- Learning and just not teaching, Outside classroom and not just inside classroom, innovative pedagogy and not just learning, leading by examples and not just transactional. The session further also discussed the escape-folding discipline approach. FDP emphasizes on various aspects of teaching effectiveness to be explored within the changing dynamics of the educational environment. Dr. Prabhat Pankaj also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also shared his experiences on happiness. The session was very informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.

FDP ON QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS USING NVIVO ON 23RD FEB 2022 & 2ND MARCH 2022

JIMS, Kalkaji organized two days FDP on "Qualitative Analysis Using NVIVO" on 23rd Feb 2022 & 2nd March 2022. The resource person was Dr. Navneet Gera, Professor & HOD, PGDM (IB), JIMS, Kalkaji who initiated the session and discussed about qualitative methods used in data analysis. On first day, Dr. Gera emphasised on using mixed methods which involves both quant data and quali data which increases validity of results. Transcripts were imported in NVIVO for content analysis. Techniques such as word frequency, text analysis and word cloud were used to analyse the data. Different methods of coding were discussed during FDP. Auto-Coding and manual coding both were discussed. On second day, Sentimental analysis using NVIVO was demonstrated and tweets from twitter handle related to #MakeinIndia and Blockchain were explored for positive and negative sentiments.

FDP ON "HOW TO CONDUCT EFFECTIVE MENTORING FOR STUDENTS" ON 3RD FEB, 2022

JIMS Kalkaji organized a Faculty Development Programme on the topic: "How to conduct effective mentoring for students"' on Thursday 3rd February 2022. The session was delivered by Dr. Aquil Busrai, CEO, Aquil Busrai Consulting, Fmr. Director (HR), IBM. Dr. Aquil Busrai initiated his address by highlighting the difference between coaching and mentoring. He focused upon benefits of mentoring for mentees and mentors and how it can be made an effective process which further made him point out the need for mentoring and its significance. Also, mentioning that to provide that comfort level of mentor with mentees, mentoring should be done more in an informal way than being very formal. The session further strolled into the need to have external mentors who have at least 3 years of experience and should have an perspective view of how it is to be working in the organizations by giving certain real life examples.
Dr. Aquil Busrai also addressed many queries of our faculty members and also faculty members shared their experiences of how it is to be a mentor for the students. The session was informative and insightful. Faculty members were highly appreciative of the session.
