He is a learner and a practitioner of Harvard Gardner’s multiple intelligence. He is so much influenced by Gardner’s multiple intelligence theory, that he has tried to mold and modify his institute’s setting to foster the various types of intelligence in his students.

His institute is bright and beautiful, and corridor walls are full of paintings quoting motivational quotes. These painting not only beautify the walls but also, give food for thought to the students and help them to introspect their own purpose and motive of life. This will help them to identify the very existence of their life in long run. There are beautiful plants in the corridor which not only give scenic beauty to the space but also, adds oxygen to the environment and connect students to nature.

The institute has an area for recreational activities, reading rooms, common rooms, gym etc. The reading area has comfy chairs, couches and bean bags. The professor believes that having these areas in an academic setup helps the student for see the broader picture of life, helps the students to try their hands in all these areas and get a hands on experience in experimenting various interest and activities. Because as per Gardner, humans possess eight different areas of intelligence. But, unfortunately our academic system, does not expose our young minds to all the areas. Professor believes it’s a must for the younger lot to expose them to all of these, and give them a choice to move forward and explore in detail their interest area.

Q. In the context of above case, do we all feel the need for practically implementing the concept of Multiple Intelligence in our academic setting, which is skewed more towards academic or logical intelligence?

DR.
