From Chairman's Desk

Dear Student

Any action or commitment of ours must be linked to a tangible incentive and reward as it further provides motivation to do still better. Some sort of reward is always attached for giving our best at all times. We normally appreciate that a positive input can yield a gratifying output but we may face challenges and at times dejections. Awards sometimes are awe-inspiringly immediate and at other times it is a test of patience. We cannot determine and we do not have much say in what form this reward will take.

It often happens that the things we did with minimal planning and hardwork go on to enrich us more than investments of time and efforts that were deliberate and meticulouslydone. As human beings our endeavor should always be to give our best in whatever we do because such efforts of ours will channelise all our skills and capabilities. This applies to all whethera worker, a student, a manager, a businessman and a leader. Rewards are always on the way for a good work done sooner or later.

Blanket Distribution by Rotaract Club of JIMS - Lajpat Nagar

As Delhi recorded the coldest day of the season on 18th Jan, 2017 a group of 12 Rotaract Club volunteers accompanied Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS distributed blankets to the poor patients and their families around AIIMS campus. The Rotaract Club of JIMS Lajpat Nagar led by the club's president Devendra Gupta (BCA) and secretary DeekshaChourasia (BMC) vetted the area to identify the needy families. As soon as Dr.Amit Gupta arrived, the vehicle carrying the blankets was taken close to the place of disbursement. The patients and their families (some of whom belonged to far flung villages of the adjacent states of UP and Haryana) queued up to receive the “gift of warmth” on a chilly winter night.

Again on 31st Jan, 2017 the Rotaractors approached the inhabitants of “Rain Basera” of Gadi village and distributed the collection of clothes made at the Lajpat Nagar campus few days earlier. As the students carried the bags to the distribution area, peopleyoung and old surrounded them asking for clothes that fitted them. Some of them even rummaged through the heap looking for what they needed. The smiles that this gesture brought on the faces of the dwellers of the “Rain Basera” was itself fulfilling and pleasing.
