Faculty Picnic

JIMS organized its annual picnic for faculty and staff members at DDA, District Park, Hauz Khaz, New Delhi on 1st January, 2015. Around 75 faculty and staff members from all campuses were present. Various games such as Badminton, Passing the Parcel, Kabaddi, Riddles, Dumb sheraz etc were conducted. In the kabaddi (males) sport, the team from JIMS Kalkaji emerged victorious. It was an immensely enjoyable picnic wherein all faculty and staff members interacted in an informal setting. The picnic served to forge deeper bonds amongst the JIMS family.

A Faculty Development Programme on “Applications of Research Techniques in Management" was conducted by Dr. Namita Rajput, Professor, Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University on 13th January 2015. HODs and faculty members from all JIMS campuses participated in the FDP. The focus was on Research techniques which should be applied to test the hypothesis. The first half of the FDP was devoted to the regression model, its benefits, applications and limitations. Dr. Namita also explained the testing method which would provide the best fit whilst applying the model. The second part of the FDP was devoted to hands- on teaching of the step by step procedure for applying the model. She explained every step through EXCEL.

Marketing Festival

The Annual Marketing festival, Markathon, 2015 was held on 24th January, 2015. The festival attracted students from several Delhi- NCR colleges such as Hindu, Hansraj, ANDC, and Amity College. All the students participated with full enthusiasm and excitement in events such as ‘Kabadi Bazaar’, ‘Ad Mad Show’, ‘Business Plan’, Management Games, Case Study, Ad Guru etc. Director, (Cdr.) Marketing Seminar

JIMS, Kalkaji organized a Marketing seminar on “Emerging Global trends in Marketing for students and Social Media, Technology and Customer Relations” on 24th January, 2015. The Chief Guest at the seminar was Mr. Mr. Ajay Sharma, Director, Momentum Worldwide. The marketing seminar highlighted various issues such as impact of social, political and technological developments on shaping modern human life.
The triumph of the Internet had not only changed the way we access information, but also the way we communicate. Also that the age of mass communication was slowly being replaced by the age of social media,  the latter mainly defining the way people live by offering them new ways of communication.

JIMS PGDM students Abhishek Gulati, Manisha Singh & Rohit Raju won second prize in “Symposium” event of Cascade 2015, a fest organized by Gargi College, Delhi University on 30th January, 2015.Also Aayushi Bansal, Md. Danish Hasan & Aseem Sharma, won the third prize in the same event. Both teams participated with great zest and received certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 6000/- (second prize) and Rs. 4000/- (third prize) respectively.

Strategic Partnerships- Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS)

JIMS Kalkaji organized an educational tour to Singapore for PGDM International Business students from 29th November to 5th December, 2014. Prof. Sanjeela Mathur, PGDM faculty, accompanied the students. The students participated in a Certificate Course on “International Marketing” conducted by faculty of Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). The visit was a rich learning experience for the students as they become aware of the current business and market environment prevailing in Singapore and South-East Asian Countries. They also got ample opportunity to understand the cross- cultural differences between India and Singapore.

Alumni Meet

JIMS Alumni Meet was held on 13th December, 2014, at the Chelmford Club, New Delhi. A large no. of Alumni participated in the event. Present and Past faculty members also attended the meet. The ensuing interaction between the faculty, the alumni and current student batches was marked by lively cheer and warmth.  Directors of all Campuses distributed trophies to Best Alumni from each campus. Good Governance Day

As a part of the ‘Good Governance Day’ celebrations, JIMS Kalkaji organized an Intra- campus Presentation Competition on 23rd December, 2014 in the Campus Auditorium. Ten students participated in the competition. They gave presentations on the topic “The Challenge of Good Governance in India- Need for Innovative Approaches”. The winners Ms. Sanghamita Ghosh and Ms. Manisha Mishra were given cash prizes and certificates.



An FDP on “Opportunities for Research in Social Sciences with ICSSR” was conducted on 19th December, 2014 by Dr. Reena Marwah, Senior Academic Consultant, ICSSR, Ministry of HRD. HOD s and faculty members from all JIMS Campuses participated in the FDP. The focus was on funds available with ICSSR and on the various subject disciplines and priority areas in which these could be granted to Researchers and Institutions. Dr. Marwah informed that ICSSR has several priority areas of research and  travel grants were also given for paper presentations in International Conferences abroad.  ICSSR also provides fellowships to individuals in various categories such as doctoral, post doctoral and senior fellowships.

Industrial Visit

  • An Industrial visit was conducted on 22nd December, 2014 for the PGDM students to SKH Auto Component, Faridabad. The company manufactures stamped metal body parts and seat frames including head rest assemblies. The students were accompanied by faculty Ms. Jyoti Kukerja. At the factory students were welcomed by Mr. Prashant Banga, Head-Admin & HR and were taken around the plant to see the manufacturing process which included the mixing of raw materials, heating, boiling, condensation, stitching and packaging. It was a most enriching experience.

  • An Industrial Visit was organised for PGDM students to Roto Pumps Ltd, Greater Noida.The students were welcomed by Mr. Binod Pandey, Head HR and P&A and Mr. Ravi Mittal, Head Manufacturing. The students were taken around the factory and were shown the manufacturing process of displacement pumps. The company is renowned for ensuring high quality manufacturing standards. The visit was a great learning experience for the students.

CSR Initiative (JIMS and NGO ‘GOONJ’)

In pursuance of our committed CSR policy to contribute generously towards social development and uplift of poor and needy members of our Society, JIMS in partnership with NGO “Goonj”  set up stalls in the Campus to spread awareness about recycled cloth and other under utilized materials. All products displayed and sold were made out of torn cloth/jeans, audio tapes, paper etc. which are usually discarded items. Students, staff and faculties visited the stall and contributed towards the social cause by purchasing the recycled products.  The collections of Goonj will be used for development of remote villages and for welfare of under privileged sections of society.

Entrepreneurship Week

E- Cell organized an Entrepreneurship Week from 4th to 8th November, 2013. The event was marked by a series of competitions such as Business Quiz, Movie Magic, Campus Company and Business Plan and helped to spread awareness and also generate a strong spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the student community. The E-week started with the enthusiastic participation in the "Business Quiz" which showcased the quizzing abilities of the students. "Movie Magic" witnessed the creative and visionary skills of the students. Another event which displayed the business skills of the students was the "Bull's Eye" where students presented very good business plans. A feather in the cap of the E-Cell has been that some of these students have already launched their ventures on Campus. JIMS, Kalkaji hosted participation from Jamia- Millia, Bharti Vidya Peeth, Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies, Gitarattan International Business School, IMS Ghaziabad and other AICTE- Approved colleges.

National Education Day

To celebrate National Education Day on 11th November, 2014, a Special Guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Sunil Abrol, President, Institute of Consultancy & Productivity Research, on the topic "Careers in Consulting". The Education Day also marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, an eminent educationist and freedom fighter. Director, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of the lecture topic-Career in Consulting could help many students realise their potential and fulfill their aspirations. Dr. Abrol spoke on Consulting as a good career option, the challenges posed by Consulting firms and the behavioral skills that a consultant needed to possess.
On conclusion of his address, Dr. Abrol fielded a host of questions from students. Thereafter, Dean, Dr. J. K. Batra gave the vote of thanks.

Annual Sports Day

JIMS inter-campus Annual Sports Meet was organized at Jasola Sports Complex on 15th November, 2014. Students from all campuses participated enthusiastically in events such as Table tennis, Badminton, Basket Ball and Volley Ball. JIMS, Kalkaji, won many of the events such as Table tennis (Girls Singles) Gold, Table Tennis(Boys Doubles) Gold, Table Tennis(Girls Doubles) Gold, Volleyball(Boys) Gold, Badminton(Girls Singles) Gold and Table Tennis (Boys Singles) Silver, Volleyball (Girls Singles) Silver, Basket Ball (Girls) Silver, Football (Boys) Silver and Badminton (Girls Doubles)Silver. JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi organized a one-day Workshop on "Finance for the Non-Financial Manager" on Tuesday, 14 October 2014 in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Konrad Adenauer Foundation of Germany. Director, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth and Mr. C M Krishna Honorary Advisor, PHDCCI, welcomed the delegates from the Industry.The Workshop focused on the basic financial principles and their application in decision making by Non-Financial Managers. The Workshop was divided into 04 sessions covering Understanding of Financial Statements, Analysis of Financial Statements, Budgetary Control and Variance Analysis and Working Capital Management. Dr. J K Batra, Dean JIMS, Dr. Amit Bagga faculty JIMS, Mr. Ravi Tulshyan Manager Power Finance Corporation and Mr. Piyush, Manager, Citi Bank were the Guest speakers.


Special Lecture Series (1)

JIMS, Kalkaji started the "Special Lecture" series initiative from October 2014. Mr. Anil Sinha, Regional Director, Inclusive Business South Asia, World Bank was the first eminent speaker to be invited. He delivered a Special Lecture to the students of PGDM and PGDM (IB) on "Promoting inclusive growth in SAARC Countries through Strategic Investments/Development" on 17th October 2014. Director, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth welcomed Mr. Anil Sinha. In his welcome address, he highlighted that South Asia is the world's least integrated region in terms of Regional Trade. As an example he stated that documents and clearance account takes about 40-60% of time to trade in south Asia.
Mr. Sinha shared the barriers of documentation, infrastructure, political issues etc. of regional trade among South Asian Countries. He made the audience aware of the Regional Trade Facilitation and Regional Investment Facilitation initiatives of the World Bank to improve the Regional Trade among these Countries.
At the end of the lecture, questions from the audience were answered by Mr. Sinha. This lecture was very interactive and informative. More lectures in the series are planned for the benefit of students.



Panel Discussion: Retailing in India- Issues, Challenges and Prospects.

A Panel Discussion on "Retailing in India- Issues, Challenges and Prospects" was organised by JIMS, Kalkaji on 18th October 2014. The eminent panelists included Mr. Kishore Chakraborti, Vice President, Consumer Insight and HFD (Human Futures Development), Mr. Ranjan Paul, India Country Manager and Director, Net Serv India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Pradeep Narula, Group President, Wave Inc.
The eminent speakers highlighted the fact that India is the most attractive retail destination today with abandon on opportunities, growing at 25% - 30% and is estimated to be $ 470 billion. The organised retailing with 6% shares stands at $ 26 billion. It is projected to reach US$ 1.3 trillion by 2018 with the organised retail market estimated to grow at the compounded annual growth rate of 40%. The discussion revolved around an irreversible change in consumer buying habits and businesses related to serving these retailers.
Recent retail trends, opportunities for national and international players were also discussed. The panel acknowledged the deficiencies and problems related to backward and forward integration of supply chain, setting up of physical retail stores, training and management of sales force. The discussion was a rich learning experience for the audience.

JIMS Kalkaji celebrated National Unity Day on 31st October, 2014 in the auditorium of JIMS Campus. A presentation on Sardar Valabh Patel's biography was given by the students of second trimester of PGDM. The motivation among students was increased by the audio-visuals highlighting his contribution towards nation. All the participants of the event took pledge of unity on this event followed by The National Anthem.

Alumni Get Together

The alumni get together is an occasion when the Alumni gather to reminisce to network, to get updates to get rejuvenate and to reunion. To strengthen the relationship with Alumni, JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi organized a get together on Sunday, 11.10.2014 followed by screening of a movie. The alumni were welcomed by Dr. J K Batra, Dean and Ms. Anupa Sen, Manager Corporate Relations. Discussions were held for the further development of the Institute. Future activities and plans were shared and their suggestions were invited. Co-operation and support in taking the Institute to new heights of excellence were requested. The occasion was glittered with the discussions by the Alumni sharing their experiences. They all were nostalgic about the years that they had spent with JIMS and they were all unanimous in echoring their feelings that the Institute has played a crucial role in their overall development and growth.

Chairman's Birthday Blast

JIMS Kalkaji celebrated birthday of Honorable Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta on October 8, 2014. The celebrations commenced with an address by Director, Dr. (Cdr) Satish Seth. He recounted the activities and achievements of the Campus over the past one year. He also stated that the myriads of laurels awarded to JIMS over the past one year could not have been possible without the expert guidance provided by Chairman.Thereafter, Dean Dr. J. K. Batra and HOD, B.Com (H), Dr. Preeti Singh on behalf of all faculty and staff wished Chairman success and happiness in all future endeavours.



The annual cultural extravaganza of "Zest and Dandiya 2014" was held on 11th October 2014 at Siri Fort Auditorium. The program began with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the lamp by Prof.( Gen) M. P Singh, Director,JIMS, Lajpat Nagar,Dr. J.K. Batra, Dean, JIMS, Kalkaji,Prof. S. K. Dogra, Registrar and HOD BBA, JIMS Vasant Kunj, and Prof.Padamanabhan, Greater Noida. It was followed by the events- Ad Mad Show, RJ Hunt, Just a Minute (JAM), Antakshari,theme play and solo instrumental.To end of this grand event the chief Guest of the Day Hon'ble Satish Upadhay, President BJP, Delhi State was felicitated. He was kind enough to distribute the Prizes to the respective winners and accompanied by The Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta and Directors of all the Campuses, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director JIMS, Kalkaji, Prof.( Gen) M. P Singh, Director,JIMS, Lajpat Nagar,Dr. Ravi K. Dhar, Director JIMS, Vasant Kunj and Prof.Dr. Ranjan Anand Malik, Director, Greater Noida.The 'Garba Dance' at the end provided a fitting finale to the celebrations and this called the festival to a close.

National HR Seminar

A National HR Seminar on the contemporary theme: “Women in Leadership Roles: Navigating Pathways to Career Success” was organized by JIMS, Kalkaji in collaboration with ISTD on September 6, 2014.  Dr. D K Banwet Professor, IIT Delhi, Ms. Anju Uppal GM (HR), AIMIL Ltd., and Dr. Anjali Nigam CEO & Founder Director, White Swan Consulting Group were the Guests of Honor at the inaugural session. The ensuing technical sessions were conducted by  Ms. Poornima Saxena VP (Sales Analytics & Operations), GENPACT and Ms. Madhulika Makar Director, Mirus Pvt. Ltd. The speakers highlighted facts that only five percent of working women in India make to senior leadership roles. Also that Naina Lal Kidwai, Indra Nooyi, Chanda Kocchar, Kiran Majumdar Shaw and many others have been facing innumerable stiff challenges at both personal and professional front due to gender bias.


Annual Blood Donation Camp on 1st Sep, 2014

JIMS has been extremely active in executing social responsibility projects and when it comes to mankind and saving lives, nothing can be more noble than donating blood.  Keeping in view this working social cause, a blood donation camp was organized on September 1, 2014 by JIMS, Kalkaji in association with Rotary Blood Bank and Rotary Nirvana. The donors went through an essential medical checkup before donating blood. Subsequently they were given refreshments, mementos and a certificate of appreciation. The event was a great success as a large number of students, teachers and staff gladly turned up to donate blood.

An Industrial Visit was organized for PGDM students to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd., Sonepat, Haryana, on 30th August 2014.The students were welcomed by Mr. Vikas Kumar, Executive, Quality Control. The students were taken around the factory and were shown the manufacturing process which included the mixing of raw materials, sterilization, fermentation, packaging and refrigeration. The company is renowned for ensuring high quality manufacturing standards. The visit was a great learning experience for the students.



Fresher’s Party of PGDM &PGDM(IB) 2014-2016

PGDM (2013-15) batch organized ‘The Fresher’s Bash 2K14’ to welcome new talent on 2nd August, 2014 at ParadiseVasantKunj.Dean, Dr. J. K. Batra welcomed the new members to the JIMS family and oriented them to its multitasking culture. A cultural program followed thereafter and the students participated in a number of contests like Mr. and Ms. Fresher, Mr. and Ms. Best Dressed, Mr. and Ms. Talented etc. Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta graced the occasion. He and Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Sethwere judges for the Mr. & Ms. Fresher competition. They crowned Mr. Vivek Tiwari and Ms. Noopur Srivastava as Mr.  & Ms. Fresher 2K14 respectively after an intense neck to neck competition. Their talent, personality, confidence & presentation were well appreciated. The other attractions of the party were ‘The Vichitra Dance’ and the skit by the seniors. The program then opened up to the beats of music and the students came alive with extremely enthusiastic and heart throbbing performances. The students danced to the tunes of peppy numbers in the JAM session and enjoyed the sumptuous dinner at the end.



Workshop-Ideation by NEN

A workshop on “Generating Business Ideas” was organized on 23rd August, 2014 by the E- Cell of JIMS, Kalkaji, to provide an opportunity to the students to ascertain their creative potential for starting a business. There is an entrepreneurial instinct in all of us and Mr. Sanjay Kapoor unfolded this through his insights. Various creative ideas were discussed which were followed by self-assessment. The objective of workshop for the potential entrepreneur was to motivate students to get ready for an entrepreneurial career. Students were motivated and encouraged to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

JIMS in collaboration with PHD Chambers organized a workshop on “Team Building” on 26th August 2014 at the PHD Chambers, New Delhi. The first session was conducted by Mr. Pradeep Narula, Group President, Wave Inc. He spoke on Leadership Approaches to Team Building. The second session was taken by Mr. ManmohanBhutani, VP (HR), FiServ Global Services. Mr. Bhutani emphasized the need for building effective teams. The third session was conducted by Dr. (Cdr). Satish Seth on Conflict Resolution. Dr. Seth also involved participants in an exercise on Leadership Skills and also a game on “Stock Market” in the fourth session. About thirty participants attended the workshop.



FDP on Team Building

An FDP on “Team Building” was conducted on Friday 01st Aug 2014 from 1000 to 1230 hours by Dr. Kavita Singh from FMS, Delhi University. The FDP was most effective as it created awareness of the need to develop key team building skills which are essential for managers.  The session was marked by conduct of a simulated activity session wherein the tenets of team building were practically communicated. An important lesson drawn was that a good team must be able to identify the issues faced and address the challenges directly so as to reap  the benefits of synergy. Overall it was an interactive session and very stimulating.




Orientation Day

JIMS Kalkaji organized a two day orientation programme for the new PGDM and PGDM (IB) batch on 1st and 2nd July 2014. The session began with saraswati vandana and lighting of lamp by the Guest of Honour Mr. Manmohan Bhutani, Vice President- People & Operations, Global Services, Fiserv India Pvt. Ltd, Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director JIMS Kalkaji and Dr. J.K. Batra, Dean.  Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth welcomed the students and apprised them on the various facets of JIMS culture. Mr. Manmohan Bhutani made the gathering aware of the changing scenario of the business world. Chairman JIMS Dr. Amit Gupta advised the new entrants to thrive and succeed academically, personally and socially and keep the spark of life shining at all times. Dean Dr. J. K. Batra gave the vote of thanks.
On the second day of the programme, Dr. Shilpa Jain, an eminent Psychologist and Faculty at IP University delivered a talk on how to excel and groom oneself in such a stressful life style. She also conducted psychometric tests for students to make them understand their strengths and weaknesses and to become a good manager and a good human being. Mr. Ritwick Ghoshal Co-founder and CEO, Mera Job.com India motivated the students on starting their own entrepreneurial venture and become ‘job givers’ instead of ‘job seekers’. He also advised the students to have thirst to innovate and become successful in life.


Vocational Training Program for poor girl students.

JIMS in partnership with the Delhi Council for Child Welfare (DCCW) has sponsored Vocational Training Programme in “Cutting and Tailoring” for poor girl students at the Dakshinpuri Center of DCCW.  This one year programme will be conducted by DCCW staff from 01 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 at a cost of Rs. 3 Lakhs.  The programme will benefit around 50 girl students who will be assured Lifelong earning subsequent to the training.  The programme was unveiled at a grand inauguration ceremony held on 04 April 2014 and presided over by DCCW President Ms. Sudha Gupta and senior DCCW management.     Dr. Satish Seth, Director, represented JIMS an behalf of Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta.

‘Sajna Aaa Bhi Jaa...’ fame singer Shibani Kashyap set the stage on fire at the annual cultural show Kshitij and Pop Star Nite organized by Jagannath International Management School (JIMS) at Kathuria Public School, Vasant Kunj.
Around 2,000 students from various colleges of Delhi and NCR enjoyed the array of events like fashion show, group dance, solo singing and Mr and Ms Kshitij. But the extra zing was added to the gala by Shibani Kashyap who enthralled the audience with her popular numbers ‘Soneya’, ‘Zinda Hoon Main’ and many more.

Annual Alumni Sports Day

As a part of an initiative for greater engagement with Alumni, JIMS organized  the First Alumni Sports Meet on Sunday,23rd February,14, at the Kathuria Public School, New Delhi.
The Alumni Sports Meet involved 3 sports events namely Cricket, Badminton and Table Tennis. For Badminton and Table Tennis there were around 4 teams consisting of alumni and the faculty and for Cricket there was one team each of the Alumni and JIMS Faculty who played against each other.
There were other events also such as Tug -of -War, Carrom, Billiards and Tambola.- followed by a sumptuous lunch.
The Alumni Sports Meet solicited the alumna's enthusiastic participation and re-lived their old times, played some good sport and interacted with the faculty.

IX th International Conference on "Rethinking Human Resources in VUCA World"

Jagannath International Management School in association with the PHDCCI, AMDISA and KAS, Germany organized an International Conference on “Rethinking Human Resources in a VUCA World” on 08th Feb 2014 at PHD Chamber, New Delhi. The conference provided a unique opportunity for world renowned members of academia, corporate heads, thought leaders and opinion makers to interact and provide fresh perspectives on the various themes related to the Conference topic.

Mr. Sachdeva in his inaugural address spoke about how the current volatile business environment, economic uncertainty and patchy governance had led to a quantum shift in HR functions from support function to being the strategic partner.  He advised all HR professionals to acquire strong domain knowledge, organizational skills and understanding the changing business scenario well. The Conference was conducted in three technical sessions. The Guest Speakers for the first two technical sessions  were: Mr. Vijay Rai, CEO, Power Con Knowledge Service Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Jean Harrison, Director (HR), Westminster, UK, Mr. Andleeb Jain, Director (HR) Isolux Corsàn India, Mr. Ignace Hindrick- Senior Consultant, India Consult,Mr. Pradeep Narula, Group President, Wave Inc,Mr. Ron McLuckie, CEO, Leadership Focus, New Zealand and Director, WIAL,Dr. Katalin Illes, Principal Lecturer in Leadership Development, Westminster University, UK, Mr. Manmohan Bhutani, VP (HR), Fiserv Global Services, Ms. Anju Uppal, GM (HR), AIMIL Ltd. The speakers in their presentations highlighted the challenges being faced by organizations in areas of  Workforce diversity, Action learning, Talent Management, Work culture and Leadership Development.
The third technical session was Research Paper presentation contest wherein 05 shortlisted participants made their final presentations. The winning prize which consisted of a trophy and cash prize of Rs.5000/- was awarded to Ms. Sunita Shukla and Ms. Parul Agarwal of ITS Greater Noida. The conference was attended by 200 delegates.





Rotary Nirvana is an offshoot & chapter of world’s largest NGO Rotary International.  This year Rotary Nirvana has applied for global grant for a sanitation project which is to build toilet blocks in girls schools.  This kind of projects is on priority agenda for Rotary International as this not only ensure basic sanitation needs but also encourages girl students to pursue their studies which they would have dropped due to lack of sanitation facilities in schools.

To be a fundraiser for a noble cause they finalized to stage a world class play by none other than “PARESH RAWAL”.

This was a huge success to support a social cause. 

Alumni Meet 2013

The 'Annual Alumni Meet' was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Panchshila Club from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. 474 Alumni members from all campuses attended the program alongwith 52 faculty & staff members. The function was presided over by Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS and Directors of JIMS, Vasant Kunj, Lajpat Nagar & VK-II also graced the occasion.
Our Chairman welcomed all the Alumni Members for their presence at this homecoming ceremony and spoke of the strong bonding and continuous reciprocal relationship between the Alumni members and the Institute. The Alumni members took this opportunity of meeting their classmates, sharing their work experiences, discussing their growth and current profile with faculty members. Mr. Madhukar Malhotra, a popular anchor entertained the audience with his own style by involving some of the alumni members. The Best Alumnus Award-2013 awards were given for each campus by the Chairman with a Gift & a Trophy. The Best Alumni Award for PGDM was awarded to Mr. Manish Dhingra, Deputy Manager, Corporate Finance, Essar Steel India Ltd. of MBA Batch 2004-06 and for BBA was awarded to Mr. Abhinav Jain Batch 1998-2001. The Alumni Meet ended with a sumptuous dinner.

In pursuance of the committed CSR policy to contribute generously towards social development and uplift of poor and needy members of our Society, JIMS has adopted a number of Ekal Vidyalayas. The EKAL Vidyalayas, inspired by principles of Swami Vivekananda are run by the EKAL Vidyalaya Foundation which has to date established ‘One Teacher Schools’ in more than 50,000 remote tribal villages of India. Over 1.5 million children have got benefitted through this educational initiative.
A special ceremony to mark the formal adoption of the EKAL Schools will be held in Kalkaji Campus auditorium on Thursday,28 Nov 2013.
Mr. Praveen Khandelwal and Mr. Saurabh Gupta, students of the first batch of JIMS, are part of this NGO. Both are successful young Enterprenuers who are also contributing back to the society through Ekal.We were proud to have them for the event.

JIMS Annual IT FEST CYNET'13 was organized in JIMS Kalkaji Campus on 8th March 2013 by the IT Departments of Lajpat Nagar and Vasant Kunj Campuses. Kshitij And Pop Star Nite 2013

All the five campuses of JIMS organized their Spring-Summer Carnival – Kshitij and Rock Show Nite 2012. The roller coaster ride of fun and frolic extended over a period of two days : March 23 2013 and 29th March,2013.

Being an appropriate platform for showcasing talents, the festival saw the participation from all JIMS Campuses and approximately 30 different colleges from Delhi and NCR region.The festival started at around 10 am in the morning, with the lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guest Denzil O' Connor, Prof. (Maj.Gen.)M.P.Singh , Director , JIMS, Lajpat Nagar, Dr. Cdr. Satish Seth, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji and Prof Manchanda.

The festival was split into 12 competitions namely Face Painting, Rangoli, Collage Making, Cartooning, Solo Song, Instrumental Solo, Dance (solo), Dance Duet, Ad Mad Show, Mr. and Ms. Kshitij and many more. While the Day One events took place at JIMS, Kalkaji Campus Auditorium.

The Day Two performances were held in the spacious grounds indoor Thyagraj stadium, New Delhi. Heavy downpour notwithstanding the students trooped in, in huge numbers to witness the King of Pop –"Jazzy B" in action. The huge arena of the indoor Thyagraj stadium reverberated with the sound of high decibel music that had the faculty and students alike swaying to its mesmerizing beats. The Maharaja of Pop ,the king of Bhangra as he is popularly called , Jazzy B, like the Pied Piper of Hamelin, led the unsuspecting, enthusiastic crowd into an atmosphere of unrestrained abandon and mirth. Hardly had he gone on the Dias, when the crowd began to cheer and sway in the aisles.


Markathon – 2013

The Annual Marketing Festival, Markathon-2013 was held on 8th February, 2013. The Chief Guest at the function was Mr. Ajay Sharma, Vice President, Momentum Worldwide (Mc Cann Group). Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth along with the Chief Guest inaugurated the festival. The festival attracted students from several top Delhi- NCR colleges such as Hansraj College, Lady Sri Ram College, Deshbandhu College, NDIM , Amity Business School etc. All students participated enthusiastically in events such as Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Management Games, Business Plan etc. The event was marked by high enthusiasm and gaiety.

JIMS Annual Cricket Championship Trophy – 2013

JIMS, Kalkaji students won the “JIMS Annual Cricket Championship Trophy – 2013”. The team comprised of BBA and PGDM students.  Students from all JIMS campuses participated in the cricket championship.  Well Done Kalkaji campus!  Faculty Mr. Sanjiv Verma conducted the inter-campus competition in a most efficient manner.

8th International Conference

Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Kalkaji, New Delhi held its 8th International Conference on “Transforming the Global Economy through Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship” on Friday, 15 February 2013 at the Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium, PHD House, New Delhi-110016. The Conference provided a unique platform for experts to deliberate upon the various issues and challenges facing entrepreneurs at the global level. The Guest of Honor at the Conference was Mr. S.Y. Siddiqui, Chief Operating Officer, Administration – HR, Finance, IT & COSL, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.  who emphasized that India along with other developing countries has begun to realize that small enterprises have the potential to augment interventions aimed at speeding up growth and transforming economies. Entrepreneurship was crucial to a nation’s economy as it was instrumental in creating wealth and employment.

The speakers at the Conference were unanimous in their view that Entrepreneurship was the driving force behind bringing innovations to marketplace and opening new opportunities for growth and development. A vibrant entrepreneurial culture and community can contribute significantly to economic prosperity. In an era of rapid globalization, competition and shifting consumer demand it becomes imperative to look for fresh opportunities to not only gain market share but also to invent newer methods of resource utilization, improved quality and better productivity. Technological changes, innovations, development and economic growth are all inextricably linked to each other.
