XIIIth International Conference on 10th Feb, 2018

JIMS-PHDCCI XIIIth International Conference, “Business 2025: Driving Growth through Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digitization” was held on 10 February 2018 at PHD House, New Delhi. Under the mentorship and esteemed  guidance of Dr. Amit Gupta ( Chairman JIMS) , Mr. Anil  Agarwal ( President Cosmos Group), Mr. Anil Khaitan( President , PHDCCI, Chairman , SNK Corp) , Mr. C. M Krishna ( Hony. Adviser, PHDCCI) and Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth(DirectorGeneral, JIMS),  the conference theme was laid down with the objective to provide the platform to research scholars, academicians and corporate delegates for sharing knowledge and perspectives on the impact of digitization and the need to align technological innovation with business strategy for sustainable growth as well as to develop an understanding of the key role of leaders in leveraging innovation as a core driver of business growth.

Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth in his welcome address highlighted the necessity of corporateworld to be highly agile fortheir long term sustainability in this VUCA world. The Guest of Honour of the conference, Mr. Sunil Sharma, (Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Govt. of India) had shared the growing significance of technology and how technological innovations are helping in reducing health cost and increasing accessibility to rural India. Dr. Simrit Kaur, Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University in her address as the guest of honour made students and all stake holders in education sector to think over the urgent need of innovation in education with industry linkage and continuous change in business strategy for long term  sustainable and resilient growth of corporate. Chief Guest, Mr. Peter Max Rimmele,(Resident Representative to India, KAS, Germany) explained how India has progressed in last six decades and how well India  and rest of the world is embracing technology in every aspect of life .The Inaugural Address by President and Chief Patron, Mr. Anil Khaitan,explained the significance of effective strategic decision making in business 2025 by quoting mythological examples of Mahabharata. The book titled “Business 2025: Driving Growth through Strategic Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digitization”, a compendium  of research contribution of academicians and industrial expertise comprising  of 24 research papers and 4 case studies submitted  from India , Japan and Canada , published by Bloomsbury India was released on 10th Feb 2018. The four technical sessions for the conference were based on four broad themes namely, “Entrepreneurship is the Future: Global Trends and Opportunities”,“Building the Business of Tomorrow: Leadership Challenges for Winning Organisations” and “Business 2025: Achieving Sustainability through Leveraging Strategic and Entrepreneurial Innovation and New Technologies” followed by technical session four of research paper presentation competition.

The technical session I was Chaired by Dr.VishnuKirpalani,( Distinguished Prof. Emeritus Concordia University, Canada & JIMS) and the  other distinguished panel members were  Dr. Jose Lam, (Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada), Dr. Istvan Molnar, (Corvinus University, Budapest, Hungary),Dr. Greg Wood, (Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada), Dr. Hidekazu Sone, (Shizuoka University of Art &  Culture Hamamatsu, Japan) and Mr. Kyosuke Yamanaka, (Director, Yamanaka Trading Company, Japan). Technical Session II was chaired by Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth,(  Director General, JIMS )and the other distinguished panel members were ,Mr. Ignace Hindrick, (Senior Consultant, India Consult), Mr. Ron Mcluckie, ( Chairman & CEO, WIAL India Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Roderick Harding, (Director, Media Communications, Garnet & Gold, USA). Technical session III was chaired by Mr. Pankay Dubey,( Managing Director & Country Head, Polaris India Private Limited) and the other panel members were , Mr. Naveen Tandon,( Director- IEA, India, AT & T Commn. Services India pvt.Ltd), Mr. Santosh Kumar Jha, (Chief General Manager, Container Corporation of India Ltd), Mr. Manmohan Bhutani, (VP(HR) & Business Operations, American Cyber Systems) and Dr. AnimeshSaxena(CEO Neetee Apparel LLP).

Technical Session IV, “Research Paper Presentation” Competition, chaired by Dr. Preeti Singh, (Professor, JIMSKalkaji ), Jury Chairperson,  Dr. MadhuVij, (FMS, Delhi University), and Jury members , Dr. J K Batra (Director JIMS  Kalkaji ) and Dr. NeelamTandon (Professor JIMS Kalkaji). The first prize of Rs 10,000 was awarded for the best research paper followed by second prize of Rs 5,000 and third prize of Rs. 3000 was awarded for the best case study. The XIIIth JIMS PHDCCI International Conference was a great learning experience for researchers, students, faculty members and corporate leaders.



INDIA INTERNET CONFERENCE 2017

FICCI and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India organized India Internet Conference on 5th & 6th April, 2017 at FICCI, New Delhi on the theme “Digital India 4 Sustainable Development”. JIMS Kalkaji was associated as an Academic Partner for this prestigious conference. The Inaugural session was moderated by Mr. Virat Bhatia, Chairman, ICT & Digital Economy Committee, FICCI, welcome address was given by Mr. Pankaj Patel, President, FICCI, address were given by Mr. Anant Goenka, Executive Director, The Express Group and Mr. Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Secretary General, International Telecommunication Union. Keynote address was given by Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber security Coordinator, NSCS, Government of India and inaugural address was delivered by Shri P.P.Chaudhary, Union Mininster of State, Law and Justice, Electronics and IT, Government of India. The concluding remarks were given by Dr. A. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI. A number of top corporate professionals from China Telecom, Facebook, Google India, Microsoft India, The Financial Express, Sharechat along with members from Ministry, Government of India and Parliament made the sessions quite interesting discussing on topics as Digital India 4 UN SDGs, A world of Internet beyond English and Digital India as a foundation for New India. Faculty members and students witnessed the conference and gained a lot about Internet and its relevance in Sustainable Development Goals.



XIIth International Conference on 4th Feb, 2017

Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Kalkaji, New Delhi in partnership with the PHD Chamber and Konard Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Germany organized its XIIth  International Conference on 04th February 2017 on the topic “Leveraging Big Data Analytics for Global Excellence”. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, President, PHD Chamber and Chairman & Managing Director, Salora International Ltd.  Eminent personalities who addressed the gathering during the inaugural session included Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji and Mr. C M Krishna, Hony. Advisor, PHD Chamber.  All the guests were accorded a warm welcome by Dr. J. K. Batra, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji.

The Conference was designed to cover four technical sessions.  The first session was a Panel Discussion, which focused on the theme “Deploying and Harnessing Big Data and Analytics for Business Excellence”.  Mr. Vijay Rai, MD (Asia Pacific & EMEA Mkts) Saviour, US INC and President NHRDN, Delhi Chapter was the session chairperson.  Panel members included experts from industry such as Mr. Shakun Khanna, Senior Director, Strategy and Transformation APAC HCM, Oracle India, Mr. Avadesh Dixit, Head Global HR, Moody’s Copal Amba and Mr. Narendra Dahiya, Head Sales, Microsoft. The second technical session was on “Driving Business Excellence in Healthcare, Retail, People and IT Analytics”.  The session chairman was Mr. Pankaj Dubey, M.D & Country Head, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. The panel members were Dr. Dinesh Jain, VP-Clinical Directorate, Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Business Head-PCS, Reliance Retail Ltd., Mr. Apurva Chamaria, VP & Head-Corporate Marketing, HCL Technologies Ltd., Mr. Anuj Agarwal, Chairman, Centre for Research on Cyber Crime and Cyber Law and Ms. Ruchi Sharma Kapoor, Head-HR, Resemed India.

The third technical session was on “Leveraging Big Data for Building Prowess in Leadership, Performance and Talent Management”.  The chairperson of the panel was was Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS, Kalkaji.  The panel members were Mr. Ignace Hindrick, Senior Consultant, India Consult, Mr. Jaap Verdonck, Professor, NNBS, Holland and Ron Mcluckie, Chairman & CEO, WIAL India Pvt. Ltd. The last technical session was “Research Paper Presentation” competition, which was conducted by Dr. Preeti Singh, Professor, JIMS, Kalkaji.  Nineteen Research papers were presented on various conference sub-themes.  The panel of judges were Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Preeti Singh, Dr. Timira Shukla, HOD, PGDM (IB), JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi and Mr. C M Krishna, Hony. Advisor, PHD Chamber.  The Best Research Paper which covered a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- was won by Mr. Animesh Saxena, CEO, Apparel Export House and Professor, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (U.P) on the subject “India-Japan CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement)-Suitable Strategy for Indian Apparel Exporters”.  The second prize of Rs. 5,000/- was won by Dr. Namita Rajput, Associate Professor, Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University on the subject “Inception of Green Banking in India: An Imperative Transformation”.

The Conference which was well attended by Corporates, Academia and JIMS students was most successful as it provided participants with rich insights and perspectives on the various Conference sub-themes. The eminent Guest Speakers made excellent presentations which covered current Global Industry trends and best practices

 



Industry Academia Conference 2017

CINQUE and EPSI organized Industry Academia Conference on 19th January, 2017 at India International Centre, New Delhi on the theme “Indian Management Education-Towards Next Horizon (Collaborating Strategy between Industry and Academia)”. The Conference was jointly sponsored by JIMS Kalkaji. The Conference Mentor was Padmashree Dr. Pritam Singh, CEO-Lead Center and Ex-Director IIM-Lucknow, MDI, Conference Corporate Chair was Mr. S. Y. Siddiqui, Chef Mentor, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and the Conference Academia Chair Person was Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Alternate President-EPSI , Director BIMTECH. A number of top corporate professionals from Hero Moto Corp, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel and academicians from IIM, IMI, MDI etc. made the sessions quite interesting discussing on topics as designing cutting-edge curriculum, honing effective industry interface to increase employability of Indian B Schools, leveraging technology and adopting Gen-Z relevant cutting edge pedagogical tools. Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General JIMS Kalkaji, faculty and placement members along with students witnessed the conference.



9th International Conference on ICT and Digital Economy

The 9th International Conference on ICT and Digital Economy “Transforming India 2016 : Transforming India” was jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce& Industry (FICCI). JIMS Kalkaji was an academic partner for this prestigious event. Honorable Minister for Communication, Government of India, Mr. Manoj Sinha and Mr. J.S. Deepak, Secretary, Department  of Telecommunications, Ministry  of Communications, Government of India lighted the lamp and opened the session by releasing the “India Telecom Report : Broadband Infrastructure For Transforming India”. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Virat Bhatia, Chairman ICT and Digital Economy Committee, FICCI. The two-day conference was marked by the distinguished presence of luminaries from the industry which included Shri R S Sharma, Chairman TRAI, Ms. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, Mr Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, DIPP, GOI,  Senior Government o?cials, Regulators, Industries, Technical Communities, Academia and International Experts from across the full spectrum of the ICT ecosystem. It provided a forum to exchange ideas, international best practices, examine the future of new technologies and investment opportunities. The basic objective of the session was to touch the untouched section, connect the villages with the nation, and make necessary amendments in regulatory policies and reforms. 



XIth International Conference on 13th Feb, 2016

Ltd.

The third technical session was on “The Essence of Entrepreneurship: Creativity, Innovation and Opportunity”.  The chairperson of the panel was Mr. Ashu Agarwal, Business World Startups specialist.  Panel members included Mr. Sanjay Kapoor and Mr. Avinash Agarwal, Sr. Vice-President, EKO India Fin Services.

The last technical session was “Research Paper Presentation” competition, which was conducted by Dr. Preeti Singh, Professor and HOD, JIMS, Kalkaji.  Thirteen Research papers were presented on various conference sub-themes.  The panel of judges were Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, Dr. Preeti Singh and Dr. Timira Shukla, HOD, PGDM(IB), JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi.  “The Best Research Paper “which covered a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- was won by Dr. Namita Rajput, Associate Professor and Mrs. Bharti, Assistant Professor on the subject “Does Environment Sensitivity Pay?  An Empirical Study of Indian Companies”.  The second prize of Rs. 5,000/- was won by Dr. Meenakshi Gandhi and Dr. Avanitak Raina on the subject “Motivators of Women Entrepreneurship in India- An Exploratory Study”.

The Conference which was well attended by Corporates, Academia and JIMS students was most successful as it provided participants with rich insights and perspectives on the various Conference sub-themes. Xth International Conference on

The final Conference session was a "Research Paper Presentation" Competition which was conducted by Dr. Preeti Singh, Professor and HOD, JIMS. Seven research scholars presented their papers on various Conference sub-themes. The 'Best Research paper' award which covered a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- was won by Associate Prof. Dr. Namita Rajput, Assistant Prof. Mrs. Bharti and Assistant Prof. Ms. Shelly Oberoi for their paper on "Does Corporate Social Responsibility Give Long Term Sustainability And Stability?" The second prize of Rs. 5000/- was won by Associate Prof. Dr. Manish Madan and Assistant Prof. Ms. Esha Jain for their paper on "An Empirical Study on Employee Attrition and Retention in BPO Industry: A Tool to Employer Branding".

IX th International Conference on "Rethinking Human Resources in VUCA World"

Jagannath International Management School in association with the PHDCCI, AMDISA and KAS, Germany organized an International Conference on "Rethinking Human Resources in a VUCA World" on 08th Feb 2014 at PHD Chamber, New Delhi. The conference provided a unique opportunity for world renowned members of academia, corporate heads, thought leaders and opinion makers to interact and provide fresh perspectives on the various themes related to the Conference topic.

The Guest of Honour of the Conference was Mr. Rajiv Sachdeva, Former Managing Director, Siemens Power Engineering. Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sachdeva in his inaugural address spoke about how the current volatile business environment, economic uncertainty and patchy governance had led to a quantum shift in HR functions from support function to being the strategic partner. He advised all HR professionals to acquire strong domain knowledge, organizational skills and understanding the changing business scenario well. The Conference was conducted in three technical sessions. The Guest Speakers for the first two technical sessions were: Mr. Vijay Rai, CEO, Power Con Knowledge Service Pvt. The speakers in their presentations highlighted the challenges being faced by organizations in areas of Workforce diversity, Action learning, Talent Management, Work culture and Leadership Development.

The third technical session was Research Paper presentation contest wherein 05 shortlisted participants made their final presentations. The winning prize which consisted of a trophy and cash prize of Rs.5000/- was awarded to Ms. Sunita Shukla and Ms. Parul Agarwal of ITS Greater Noida. The conference was attended by 200 delegates. 


PRESS RELEASE of 8th International Conference

Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Kalkaji, New Delhi held its 8th International Conference on "Transforming the Global Economy through Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship" on Friday, 15 February 2013 at the Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium, PHD House, New Delhi-110016. The Conference provided a unique platform for experts to deliberate upon the various issues and challenges facing entrepreneurs at the global level. The Guest of Honor at the Conference was Mr. S.Y. Siddiqui, Chief Operating Officer, Administration – HR, Finance, IT & COSL, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. who emphasized that India along with other developing countries has begun to realize that small enterprises have the potential to augment interventions aimed at speeding up growth and transforming economies. Entrepreneurship was crucial to a nation's economy as it was instrumental in creating wealth and employment.

The speakers at the Conference were unanimous in their view that Entrepreneurship was the driving force behind bringing innovations to marketplace and opening new opportunities for growth and development. A vibrant entrepreneurial culture and community can contribute significantly to economic prosperity. In an era of rapid globalization, competition and shifting consumer demand it becomes imperative to look for fresh opportunities to not only gain market share but also to invent newer methods of resource utilization, improved quality and better productivity. Technological changes, innovations, development and economic growth are all inextricably linked to each other.
