From Chairman's Desk
Every fear in life is not a phobia and every problem does not require counseling. Not being able to speak confidently in front of people, however, remains one of the most common fears. The first step doing it right is to accept your fear instead of fighting it or thinking of it as a problem with you. Rehearsing is the key for good communications and public speaking. Always run through the main points and particularly the introduction of your speech aloud in a rehearsal without feeling conscious. It is generally noticed that there is at least one face in the audience who is very receptive. That person is like a gift from the God to all public speakers. He smiles, nods at the right intervals and is generally the one to ask the easiest question. It’s better to look at him/her than the other people. Ask a positive question to yourself as to what will happen if I rock the presentation. Remember as good question brings good answer.
People like smiling faces and your mistakes will be forgiven sooner than others. Take deep breaths and don’t go into the supersonic mode of speaking non-stop. A better speaker is one who is able to take the maximum people from the audience along on his chain of thoughts. Develop multiple ideas as they help in good public speaking platforms.
