JIMS annual marketing festival Markathon 2017 was held on 17/02/17. To celebrate this unique festival JIMS was joined by a galaxy of top institutes, and colleges of Delhi NCR, making the event exhilarating enriching and extremely competitive. Colleges such as Venkateshwara, Ramjas, SGND Khalsa, Ramanujam, Faculty of Arts, Jamia Milia Islamia, Maharaja Agresen, etc participated with full vigor and excitement to make the event a huge success. The programme commenced with a brief introduction about JIMS and the event. The programme was kick started by the case study competition, followed by Business Plan. Simultaneously other events like Ad Mad Show, Kabadi Bazaar and Ad Guru were being held to showcase the talent, creativity and spirit of the students.
The IPL Auction game also occupied a pivotal role in triggering the competitive and decision making abilities of the various participating colleges. At the end of the day long competition the students were felicitated by Dr. J. K. Batra, Director JIMS for winning and participating in various events. The winners were awarded certificates, gift vouchers and certificates. Dr. J. K. Batra also appreciated the efforts of all faculty, staff and organizing students is making the event a grand success.
This February, we were joined by multiple budding managers , colleges and universities to discover, shape, and celebrate the marketing festival “Markathon”- held on 6th February 2016 ” succeeded by a Marketing Seminar at JIMS Kalkaji, New Delhi. The Festival of Marketing had an impressive line-up of colleges, ready to inspire and impact the marketing journey.
Markathon held on 6th February, started with a series of events and got an exhilarating response from various colleges across Delhi/NCR such as St Stephens, Swami Shradhanad Colege, ARSD, Swami Vivekanand College, Gittaratan International Business School, Faculty of Arts, Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, Rukmini Devi, NDIM, AMITY etc. who participated with full vigor and excitement amongst all campuses of .JIMS.
The Programme Commenced with a short introduction about JIMS and followed by the first event ‘Kabadi Bazar’ in the auditorium with an active participation from teams external and internal where students engaged with enthusiasm to sell their respective products to the audience. This was followed by the ‘Ad Mad Show’ where college teams actively participated towards making an ad and making it look appealing to the audience and judges. Simultaneously another event ‘Business Plan’ was carried out with an upcoming approach towards looking at innovative ideas which could practically be executed.
Management Games also occupied a central role in triggering the students with a a lot of energy and enthusiasm with games and exercises which truly motivated the students in a true spirit of the competition. Case Study as referred by some as Katha Saar was carried out with active participation by both internal and external teams. Ad Guru, a very challenging business quiz was held amongst teams of various colleges with three rounds of elimination and had an excellent participation and students were truly intrigued by the questions. Plus, at the heart of the Festival this year were the Awards. The awards championing the most creative, innovative and exceptional work and putting it centre stage. Prof (Cdr.)Satish Seth, JIMS Kalkaji conferred all winners with cash prizes and certificates and delivered a vote of thanks.
The Platform of Markathon instilled a series of games, activities and exercises to stimulate the working of marketing in the practical environment in a fun and innovative way. It was indeed a fun learning platform for all students. Dr. J. K. Batra, Director, JIMS Kalkaji, appreciated the efforts of all faculty and staff members for successful conduct of the Marketing festival.
Markathon – 2015
The Annual Marketing Festival, Markathon-2015 was held on 24th January, 2015 in Kalkaji Campus. The Inter-collegiate festival saw students from several colleges across Delhi – NCR region such as Hindu (DU), Hansraj (DU), ANDC (DU), Zakir Hussain (DU), Gargi (DU), Khalsa (DU), Deshbandhu College (DU), Faculty of Law (DU), NDIM, and Amity Business School etc. All students participated enthusiastically in events such as Case Study, Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Kabadi Bazaar, Business Plan and Management Games. Certificates were given to all the students who participated in events and winners were also given cash prizes. The Annual Marketing Festival, Markathon-2014 was held on 22nd February, 2014. The festival attracted students from several top Delhi- NCR colleges such as Hansraj College (DU), SRCC (DU), GIBS, Zakir Hussain (DU), Deshbandhu College (DU), Faculty of Law (DU), NDIM, and Amity Business School etc. All students participated enthusiastically in events such as Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Kabadi Bazaar and Management Games. The event was marked by high enthusiasm and gaiety. Certificates were given to all the students who participated in events and winners were also given cash prizes.
Markathon – 2013
The Annual Marketing Festival, Markathon-2013 was held on 8th February, 2013. The Chief Guest at the function was Mr. Ajay Sharma, Vice President, Momentum Worldwide (Mc Cann Group). Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth along with the Chief Guest inaugurated the festival. The festival attracted students from several top Delhi- NCR colleges such as Hansraj College, Lady Sri Ram College, Deshbandhu College, NDIM , Amity Business School etc. All students participated enthusiastically in events such as Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Management Games, Business Plan etc. The event was marked by high enthusiasm and gaiety.
Markathon – 2012
The Annual Marketing Festival, Markathon 2012 was held on 27th Jan, 2012 at Kalkaji Campus. The Chief Guest at the function was Mr. Anupam Datta, Vice President & Head (International Business), V.E. Commercial(P) Ltd. Dr (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director JIMS, Kalkaji, along with the Chief Guest inaugurated the festival admist great enthusiasm. The Inter-collegiate festival saw students from several colleges across Delhi – NCR region participating in the various competitions such as Ad Mad, Ad Guru, Case Study, Management Games, Business Plan etc. The event which was marked by high enthusiasm and gaiety remains one of the most memorable events in the festival calendar of JIMS.
Markathon – 2011
The annual marketing festival “Markathon 2011” was held on 28th Jan 2011 in Kalkaji Campus. Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director inaugurated the event amongst great fanfare and enthusiasm. Students from 17 colleges such as Sri Venkateshwara College, NDIM, Accurate Business School, Shri Ram College of Commerce, IITM etc. participated in a variety of events. This much awaited event, with combined efforts and enthusiasm of faculty and students has become one of the most memorable events in the recent history of JIMS.
